Lost my FOID...went to the gun shop and had a picture taken, filled out the application, on 04Aug.

Had it in my mailbox on either 5 or 6 Sept., don't remember which.  It was postmarked 02Sept.

Did you report it lost or just applied for a new one?

I just helped another family member mail off a FOID application today.

UPDATE: The check was cashed on the 25th.

I finally sent off the change of address request about a week to ten days ago. Found my new FOID in the mail when I got home today, so it arrived sometime since Wednesday.
You will not 'rise to the occasion', you will default to your level of training - plan accordingly.

Despite their rallying around us at election time, honoring only 8 hours of Illinois' 40+ hour law enforcement class towards a 16 hour requirement shows the contempt that our elected officials hold us in.

Wife applied and had card in hand in four weeks. She had a card that expired about 10 years ago. Not sure if that makes any difference though.

Submitted on Jan 23rd through a local gun shop and it arrived in the mail yesterday, Mar 6th. 42 days for the entire process. At day 32 I called ISP to get a status update and I also emailed my congressman...although I'm not sure that made a difference.

My FOID was de-laminating, so five weeks ago I called the ISP and requested a replacement.  I received it this week and discovered some updates.  First, the picture and the FOID number now match my CCL, and second, they renewed it for 10 more years.  Just wish they had said I don't need a FOID and a CCL.
