Illinois Concealed Carry Wait Time 2019

Recommended Posts

Although there are many people requesting answers to the long wait times. It's not right to tell them to go look at all the other times this has been covered. This is a forum. If people need to vent their frustrations. So what.So far it is still a free country(At least in most states other then Illinois).People are people.Truth be told. Those who have a foid are really not concerned about those who don't.It's easy to say something like"Go check the forum posts". In reality they would do the same thing in the other guys shoes. The people who are on appeal are truly the outcasts. No one wants to get involved with them for fear of risking their own foid.Basic human nature.Everyone talks a good fight, but when **** hits the fan.Your on your own.Life in a communist socialist society.Watch what happens in Virginia to see the future of Illinois.See if the people respond

Applied 8-14-19 no prints

Status remained at Submitted for 120 days

Emailed the ISP on 12-12-19 asking if I needed to do something else since

120 days had passed and I was still not approved.

At about 11:30 PM on 12-12-19 my status changed to QC Verified.

This QC Verified status could have changed anytime prior to that 13:30 pm time.

That was just the time I looked

Checked on Fri 12-13-19 and I see approved

So now we will see how long it takes to get to me

What is the email trick? I tried searching but found no posts about it only mentions of it.

PJC, when your card gets printed, status will go approved to active. May take a few days to get sorted, batched, to the post office and mailed, delivered.

Maybe the trick you referred to was the belief some had at one time emailing an inquiry about your app would get someone to open and look at it and while there they might progress it along to next step. Nothing Ive seen that confirmed this was a real thing and as is, calls and emails arent often being responded to.

My CCL expires on 3/26/2020. Submitted my renewal on 12/05/2019 (the first day I was eligible to renew according to the letter I received). I had completed the renewal course and live fire qualification in October 2020. Checked the ISP site today and it says my status is Active and Issued as of 03/04/2020 with an expiration date of 3/26/2025. I'll have to say i'm pleasantly surprised. Hopefully the new card arrives in the next couple of days.

My FOID is up for renewal in November of this year. I only hope that will go as smooth.

I'd like to give a shout out to Red Dot Arms in Lake Villa. Completed my original CCL course and finger prints with them and also my renewal course. Great People, lots of training options at a fare price. Retail shop is on the smaller side but still has a nice selection. FFL transfer price is pretty good too.

As a disclaimer my son just started working for Red Dot, however he has only been there about a month. So I completed all my training and purchased a few firearms from them before he started working there. I would give Red Dot the same shout out even if my son didn't work there.
