My story goes like this... I had a 19 year old felony charge overturned ( thank you 2nd amendment ) in June of 18, in December the judge signed the order for expungment. In Jan I saw that my conviction had been removed from the county records, I foolishly thought this meant that my expungemnt had been completed.  I repeatedly reached out to the ISP trying to confirm that it was done and was unable to get a response.  I went ahead and applied for my FOID and was denied because that conviction was still on my record. I finally got my letter from the ISP in March stating that my expungement has been completed.  I filled out and sent off my appeal paperwork on 3/13.  I have emailed and called the ISP asking for an update and I have not received any information back and online it stills shows the denial from Jan.  Is there a better way to push this along or get some help on getting this appeal processed?  I see horror stories on here about waiting years for these to be completed.  Any help or info would be appreciated.

Many posts about this type of timeframe.
Your mailed in paper work is only 1 month old.
Calling and e-mailing seems to be a futile effort to almost everyone.
Some appeals here have taken years to complete.

Send out a PM to MollyB and get her information on this first hand, she is the owner of this IC Group, and has direct contacts within the ISP.
No it stating she will get your card in 30 days, but she is the source of all things FOID / CCL

Hang in there for it might be a long and winding road.....

The ISP is very adept at revoking FOID and CCLs and demanding return of the cards within a 48 hour period. They should also be adept at reinstating the same within 48 hrs. when a judgement has clearly been made to exonerate an individual.

Try calling their legal office: 217-782-7658.  Please keep us posted on your progress.
