I voted today

I'm choosing the Democrat ticket just to vote against my current representative. Then I'm going to call her and let her know I did that. In November I'll vote for whichever Republican gets nominated for governor.

I'm doing the same thing. In Illinois, it's better to request the Democrat ballot, especially for those of us in the Chicagoland area. A democrat is going to win, but at least you can help pick which one will win.

For what its worth, I noticed there were more Democrat sign in slips than Republican. This was Stratford Square early voting location...in Dupage. That's not a good sign for us if measuring enthusiasm.

I also saw a poll that puts Quinn in the lead for SA. How terrifing is that. Kick it into gear people. Tell your friends to get it done.

Meh...too many imports have moved into DuPage. Although a lot of the races only have a single R running for the position. Earlier in the week the Yorktown location was not busy.

Upset that there wasn't a single Republican candidate on the ballot for County President at a time when Taxwinkle is most vulnerable.

There were lots of "no candidates" on my overall ballot. Indeed, disappointing.

Yep. Pull a R ballot in Chicago, you’ll have lots of gaps. Pull a D ballot in most of the rest of the State, likewise.

My Republican state rep is unopposed in the primary. He voted “yes” on every single one of those gun control bills a couple weeks ago. When we moved out of the city in 2016 I was excited to see we would have a Republican representing us in Springfield. We moved right before the election so we couldn’t vote in the precinct where we moved. Now I’m glad I couldn’t back then. It sucked having to color in the line next to his name just to get the ballot to register today.

So many empty boxes on the Republican ballot. It's a shame.

I thought the same thing. Sadly, we are losing a lot of the party to other states. My short term goal, 1-2 years, is get my house sold. I have never believed in paying rent, but I will do so if it allows me the luxury to shop the job markets in other states without a mortgage holding me back.

It's either sell or become a landlord and I just don't like the way my section of town is trending. Moved in 7 years ago and it was a quiet community. Now I realize it was quiet due to retiree's and they are all moving away and selling their homes, neighborhood is trending younger and crime is going up with it.

I've all but given up on the state, the fuse has been lit for far too long, the implosion is imminent.

WGN has election coverage on and they said Gas Bag ( JB ) has shoved $71 million dollars of his own money into the campaign so far, I just don't understand why ??? If I had one tenth of that I wouldn't even be in Illinois.

EDIT.... They just interviewed Gas Bag and Kennedy ( related to JFK and Teddy The Swimmer ) stooges and now I'm going to change the channel before puking.
