Brady Campaign Encourages Truancy

I would like to make you aware of a community event taking place tomorrow after 10 at Fishel Park. A number of DGN students plan on leaving school and marching to Fishel Park for a rally and community gathering sponsored by The Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Violence.

...

The Downers Grove Park District requires a special event permit, proof of insurance and deposit for groups renting our parks and facilities. Large groups may be required to provide additional documents or security as decided by the District. In response to the recent rental application submitted by the Chicagoland Chapter Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the District requires this group to follow our standard rental procedures and requirements as outlined above.

The Brady Campaign is sponsoring an event tomorrow in Downers Grove paying for students of Downers Grove North High School to leave school at 10 AM and march to a local park for an anti-gun rally.

Note that the Brady Bunch is paying for the insurance and deposit for use of this pubic park in the middle of downtown Downers Grove.

I guess in the minds of the Brady Bunch activism is more important than education. Anyone besides me think that they planned this for a Friday for better participation from kids wanting to start their weekend a bit early?

The cynic in me says they choose a Friday rather than a Saturday knowing they’d get a better turnout from kids who are just interested in ditching school.

The fact that the permits and insurance was paid for by the Brady Bunch shows that this is not a teenaged organized event, but a professional event organized and paid for by millionaire zealots.

they are not really ditching if the school gives them a free pass.for the students it is appealing, lets see,go to math class or go outside with all the other sheep.pretty sure 90% will march, they think that makes them cool.in the big picture, does anybody really care what these kids do?answer NO.i wonder what would happen if we got permits for the students to attend a pro gun march?my guess is the orginizer,s would be arrested for letting the kid,s be truant.

Thankfully the students will face consequences for leaving campus.

"A student who misses a class without an excuse receives a one-hour detention. A student who leaves campus unexcused receives a four-hour detention. Depending on a student's individual discipline history, however, consequences may be greater."

You forgot the hidden rule "If the student does a walkout that advances the LWW agenda, that is a valid excuse."

Is it really any surprise they are doing this on 420?

The bunch choose not to educate themselves on the guns they want to get rid of. This is perfectly fitting for them to choose a march instead of an edumacation.

I have wondered time to time, if it wouldn't be beneficial to print up a bunch of fliers, with bullet item factoids that show the lunacy and ineffectiveness of 'common sense gun laws", and pass them out to marchers like this. I GUARENTEE these young folks are ignorant of the facts.
