technical Posted May 21, 2018 at 12:28 AM Share Posted May 21, 2018 at 12:28 AM Those of you with a Florida ccw, is it still worth the trouble with the expanded coverage of the Illinois ccw? I travel to the east coast periodically but not sure it's really a benefit.
Hap Posted May 21, 2018 at 01:53 AM Share Posted May 21, 2018 at 01:53 AM A Florida non-resident permit gets you, in addition to the states recognizing IL permits, ND, WY, NM, LA, GA, WV, and DE, along with FL, according to the maps at usacarry.com. Is it worth it? That's up to you.
cnwfan3 Posted May 21, 2018 at 03:06 AM Share Posted May 21, 2018 at 03:06 AM If you go to FL for vacation, it definitely worth it. Plus you get several other states that IL CCL does not cover.
Gamma Posted May 21, 2018 at 03:17 AM Share Posted May 21, 2018 at 03:17 AM If you travel through PA you can get a PA license for ~$20 and zero hassle, and that gives you several additional states. A FL license gets you FL, NM, and DE that the PA license doesn't for comparison. Interactive multi-license map page, makes it easy to see what adding another license gets you:https://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html
soylentgreen Posted May 21, 2018 at 09:51 PM Share Posted May 21, 2018 at 09:51 PM I got Utah because it's pretty easy to get once you have an IL license (and cheap). I haven't looked at the maps in a while, but it gives you nearly every state FL does...except FL itself.
