1. no more prayer in schools or moment of silence for religious reasons or observations. From what I hear catholic membership is down, so even the basic 10 Commandments are not being taught. That should also reflect lower numbers in other Christian  denominations as well.

2. Parents are not allowed to discipline their children in public or private, little johnny or Janey can claim they abused them for not allowing him or her to play x-box 24/7/365 and Department of Child Protective Services might agree, so parents fear that.

3. Lack of family figures, mothers and fathers roles.

4. lack of morality. Example, it is wrong to stab, shoot, etc. someone that YOU THINK "disrespected" you. See number 1.

5. Gang violence in Chicago and Illinois. Kids look for family, protection, and belonging in Gangs, (speak with your local police departments on this). How are Chicago judges and Illinois judges treating gang members?

6. Progressive agenda - From a political perspective the progressive agenda is within the last 50 to 60 years from what I have heard. If I recall correctly it was started some time in the 60's, explains some things.

I guess I'm not the only "Helicopter" parent here.

Laws are just discouragements, they don't stop anything they just try to discourage you from doing things or working around them.

If you make private sales go through a FFL there's going to be a whole lot of 10 year old firearms that just go "poof".

You give peace a chance; I'll cover you if it doesn't work out.

Sexual Revolution happened.   Taught that there are no rules when it came to sex.   So people were able to treat each other like sex objects, which then translated into people treated like objects in general.

Now that people are objects, it is OK to do anything bad to them.     After all, they're just objects.

This is what happens when sociopaths rewrite the mores and culture of society.

The Second Amendment of the Constitution protects the rest.

If you want to know where our society as a whole went wrong, look into the Frankfurt School.

There is no better way to make a child feel like a stranger in their own country than to lead a prayer in a public school for a religion not practiced by that student.

You're older than me so you missed one. And it's probably not what you're looking for.

When I was 13... 49 years ago... organized activities for kids began in Naperville. We'd always had Little League and Pop Warner. But that summer the list of new kids to play backyard baseball and screw around with just dried up. They were at some supervised play lot lot with paid older kids, probably about your age, Buzzard. Ice hockey on the river continued for a couple of years. It must have been too cold out for supervisors. You had to know where all the rocks were to avoid the riffles of open water. And we knew how to test the ice, or thought we did. By the time I was 16 someone had dug out rectangles with berm edges and flooded them for an actual outdoor hockey rink. It wasn't the same. Now it was competition and sport rather than just fun... Something to do.

We have over supervised our children. I guess that was the beginning of the Nanny State.

49 YEARS AGO! In my head, I assumed you were in your 40s. Well, you write like a younger man lol.

Which led to the killing of millions by abortion since 1973.
