McCroskey Posted October 28, 2019 at 11:43 PM Share Posted October 28, 2019 at 11:43 PM I'm moving to Brookfield in a week. I'm stuck with the lease ay my apartment, but I'm going to sublease it. Question: Will the post office forward my renewed CCW permit to my new address? Sometimes certain companies or govt agencies will put "do not forward" on pieces of mail. I'm just wondering if I should wait to forward my mail.

The good thing is that your license remains valid and you can carry on the one you have while you wait for the new address one to arrive. So try not to move often, it is really expensive. DaveIL Posted October 29, 2019 at 03:00 PM Share Posted October 29, 2019 at 03:00 PM The post office does not return mail on hold, it holds onto it locally until the end of the hold which is a max 30 days unless special instructions are given. Also I have seen some "state police" FSB mail come through and I want to say it says "Postmaster Please Forward". I'll have to keep an eye out. Very recently I received my FOID during a mail (vacation) hold and it was in the pile of mail I received when I returned.

McCroskey Posted November 6, 2019 at 02:41 AM Author Share Posted November 6, 2019 at 02:41 AM I'm gonna wait it out. I already have to pay again to update my address, I really don't want the hassle of it probably being returned and having to deal with whatever Illinois bureaucratic headache results from it.
