ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:07 AM Share Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:07 AM Found it on YouTube. Why won't videos show up on this forum anymore? InterestedBystander Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:25 AM Author Share Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:25 AM It is certainly inconsistent for me. Sometime using manual youtube tags help. Maybe the upgraded board, if we ever get there, will help.

InterestedBystander Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:58 AM Author Share Posted August 7, 2019 at 01:58 AM So what did the sow have to say for herself? Its not racist. If you can afford the gun the $50 isnt going to hurt that much. Fingerprinting will make us safer...the usual. It was roughly a 15 minute segment. ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 7, 2019 at 02:01 AM Share Posted August 7, 2019 at 02:01 AM Essentially, Willis was spewing the same, tired, retreaded "it will make us safer" nonsense that will literally not do anything other than place a greater burden on the normally law-abiding, and affect the criminally inclined not in the slightest. Those are the changes I made to your post. That is definitely not the way it had been able to embed YouTube videos for the past several years. Something got changed in the coding of the board, it seems, because it used to do it automatically when you pasted in the video URL, hit "Enter" three times, and clicked the "Post" button. Euler Posted August 8, 2019 at 02:00 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 02:00 AM Google turned https on for youtube videos only like about a year ago. It was straight http before that.

Try a straight copy/paste from your browser's address bar, without the tags. That is exactly what I do, copy from the address bar. And only recently have they stopped embedding. I even test out the copied and pasted URL by opening up a new window, pasting the URL into the new browser bar, and hitting "Enter" on my keyboard. The video opens up as it is supposed to. Additionally, as a test, I embedded the videos into posts in another forum I am a member of, which worked the exact same way as it used to here. They work fine there, with the embedded videos showing up in the post without having to do anything else. Occam's razor indicates that it's something to do with the coding in this site. Not the first time I've had functionality problems with features here. I've written to you mods before about them.
mauserme Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:29 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:29 AM The question is where are the tags coming from? Is it from the way they are posted, or is the forum adding them? When I look at your URL I see this, with opening and closing tags: [url=https://youtu.be/XeY1cDc0nYc]https://www.youtu.be/XeY1cDc0nYc[/url] When I look at my copy/paste I see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeY1cDc0nYc&feature=youtu.be Interestedbystander's version is: [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeY1cDc0nYc[/youtube] Soutsidr has media tags in the modified quote: [media]http://youtu.be/XeY1cDc0nYc"]https://www.youtu.be/XeY1cDc0nYc[/media]

ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:38 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:38 AM In the post right above this one, I literally just clicked on the YouTube video, opened it up in a separate browser tab on YouTube, selected the URL in the browser bar, copied and pasted it into both this forum and on a separate forum that formats the same way for embedding videos, and it worked in the other one, but not here. ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:40 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:40 AM Now, I coped the one you posted into the post above this one, also did it on another site that allows the embedding of videos as per this one, and as you can see it just showed up the URL here, but allowed the posting in the other site. ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:42 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:42 AM The one above was done with a different browser, Brave, which had no cookies or anything in it, and it still doesn't embed here. But it does in the other site I am posting it in as a test. Thus, the problem is on Illinois Carry's site, not my system, or my browsers.
mauserme Posted August 8, 2019 at 04:08 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 04:08 AM There are 2 distinct modes available when you post - one with BBCode Mode enabled, the other with that mode disabled. You can toggle this selection by clicking the little icon at the top left corner of the post box. If you look very closely the icon is a light switch. When I look at your latest url with BBCode Mode enabled I it see exactly as it appears in your post:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeY1cDc0nYc&feature=youtu.be However, when BBCode Mode is disabled a more complete version of your post is revealed:https[color=#666600]:[/color][color=#880000]//www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeY1cDc0nYc&feature=youtu.be[/color] In other words, with BBCode enabled the system is trying to parse your url to a format you didn't intend, including color tags and such. Try posting the url one more time, this time with BBCode Mode disabled. You'll know its disabled if your formatting tools like bold, italic, etc are grayed out. You are talking about in the "More Reply Options" screen? I have almost never used that in the past. Also, the color coding that was there is what showed up in YOUR posting of that URL. I literally just copied and pasted it. Here is it reposted, with the BBCCode turned off: It does seem to work, but that was never necessary before. mauserme Posted August 8, 2019 at 04:20 AM Share Posted August 8, 2019 at 04:20 AM Another option is to type your reply in a plain text editor, which will strip out any coding, then copy/past that text in either mode.
FoxtrotIndia Posted August 9, 2019 at 02:01 PM Share Posted August 9, 2019 at 02:01 PM He did a really good job putting up with her BS lolI feel that he could have had a couple better talking points / rebuttals, but over all it was still cool to see a calm discussion from two sides. Very frustrating to hear her constantly say "well if you can afford the gun" and "well if it makes you safer hur hur hur" Like she talking to a child. 2A4Cook Posted August 12, 2019 at 01:48 PM Share Posted August 12, 2019 at 01:48 PM These are the same hypocrites that cry it's a poll tax if someone has to have a driver's license or state ID to vote. A little "common-sense" voting legislation would keep Democrats from destroying our democracy!
