ScottFM Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:10 PM Share Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:10 PM I'd be annoyed if it's happening with regularity. I haven't seen it happening 'till you mentioned it and then only with your post.

Euler Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:32 PM Share Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:32 PM Have you noticed or is it just me that words with apostrophes the apostrophes are being dropped? It depends on the kind of apostrophe (and quote). Straight apostrophes and quotes are retained. If you copy/paste curly apostrophes and quotes, they will be dropped. spec5 Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:36 PM Author Share Posted March 27, 2018 at 05:36 PM My problem has been solved. I talked to Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook and he said he took over my cell phone since he knew I was a Republican after mining my data. He won't do that anymore. I said I wasn't giving up. It's working now. It was a setting problem on my iPhone's keyboard. It wasn't really Zuckerberg it was Schumer and Pelosi. Lol

quackersmacker Posted March 27, 2018 at 10:20 PM Share Posted March 27, 2018 at 10:20 PM The only apostrophes I keep seeing missing on these forums are those that "should've" been there when someone wrote "should of." Didn't we all at least get through grade school English? Rant over. Sort of. NOT sort've !

Have you also noticed that people and newscasters use the singular verb IS all the time when they should have used the plural verb ARE? Example: The demonstrators is going DC to protest instead of the demonstrators are going to DC to protest.

mauserme Posted March 27, 2018 at 11:08 PM Share Posted March 27, 2018 at 11:08 PM I shouldn't say this but I've had none of the problems you've had as long as I've typed an apostophe'd word directly into the post box . I'm not saying it's the user's error, but it's possibly the way you've posted, copyin' and pastin' from a different document. Do ya' see what I'm sayin'? Windermere Posted March 28, 2018 at 02:27 AM Share Posted March 28, 2018 at 02:27 AM Saw an ad yesterday about a “smart grammar app” and how it corrects more than just spelling errors. It also makes sure you use the right words and punctuation and gives suggestions for better words depending on context. We’re getting dumber and dumber. Skynet is getting closer to becoming self aware lol
