This site is a monument to the idea that it possible to bring about change in Illinois.

I think one of the reasons change worked in our case is that 2A issues don't really affect the politicians personally one way or the other.

However, campaign finance, term limits, the state's financial health, voter fraud, illegal immigration etc. all do and that's why we'll never change those things.

Successes on 2A issues take away tools which have been used to defeat honest candidates. Last year we took the "concealed carry killers" hammer away from the crooks and they really miss it.

I voted early as well.

I just love the strangle hold the dems have on crook county.

Vote for 1 -

Cook County President:

And the one and only choice is __________

Ugh, I'll just leave it blank. I can't stomach this ballot. Half the ballot doesn't even have an alternative.

Next time become the alternative.

You can't,

it takes 6000 signatures to get on the ballot if you're a Democrat, 5000 signatures if you're a Republican, and 50,000ish if you're independent.

Things aren't rigged at all.

Can you imagine me getting elected for cook co president? People would actually have to work! And pay scales would be drastically adjusted for gov positions under my watch... Guns for everyone though!

Each conservative vote is very important.

Liberals constantly frustrate us hoping we won't vote. Don't let them win. I envision 2 lines facing each other, one line of conservatives and one line of liberals. Each conservative must vote to cancel out the corresponding liberal vote. If conservatives don't give up, maybe some of the liberals will give up ...

Well as much as I am discouraged, early voting for me is a Godsend. My work is completely unpredictable and if elections were confined to one day, i would often be out of luck. Even though my personal outlook is bleak on the matter, make no mistake....voting I believe is a very serious civic duty. I will always vote even if I am just canceling out a vote for the other side.

Early voting is just wrong IMHO.

It has the potential for much more corruption than there already is in the "voting process" without "voter ID" required at the polls!!!

Agreed. Bothers me a lot.

Agreed! With Early and Absentee voting, it makes for voter fraud too easy. Lets be like the dems and vote early and vote often. Lets just look at how the dems promote the voter fraud by looking at the Ohio voter fraud. It was Melowese Richardson, a Democratic poll worker, convicted of Voter Fraud. See this and this. The voter fraud on top of stories like this one today where the voting machine had a 'Calibration error' that turned republican votes to democratic votes... These make you have to stop and think.

How exactly does early voting mean more fraud? Sent from S4 Echoe ROM

How exactly does early voting mean more fraud? Well, it does not mean more fraud, just the ability for more fraud. Early voting, while in theory might be a good thing, in its current implementation is not. I can, hypothetically, and as the voters in Ohio demonstrated, go and vote early. And vote Absentee. And vote on the day of the election.. They are not tracking a One person, One vote.. If there was a way to guarantee one person, one vote, then it is good...

But, that is not today..

Ohio or Illinois. I vote in Illinois, I guess I will go vote in Ohio later. Is our process like Ohio?

I vote in Illinois too, I just use Ohio as an example.. BUT, there are many items that need to be addressed to fix the election process in the US. And, I will not pick on Illinois or Ohio, but use the biggest liberal center in the country, New York / NYC. Why is it that a college student that lives in Illinois say, like my daughter, goes to a Higher School of Education in NYC, and can vote absentee in Illinois, and go into a poll in NYC and vote using her college ID? She lives in Illinois. Her permanent address is in Illinois. Yet she can vote in NYC. In a State or Local election, that does not mean anything, but in a national election, now that one person can vote twice, once in 2 states and not technical break any laws. And, even if they, being NYC, require a government ID to be given to vote in an election, how will they guarantee that any illegal immigrants/aliens/ 'Undocumented Workers' that have received State Issued Drivers Licenses, since NY will give them the IDs, are not voting in the election. There is nothing on their DL that states they are illegal, and non residents. That is just wrong in so many ways.
