Recourse for going beyond 90 day renewal period with prints

Not having luck with Searching for the part of the CCL law that states we are cool to carry on an expired card if we applied for renewal correctly before expiry. Is this it below? I am aware that a person carrying on an expired CCL should carry a screenshot of their submitted application details as well as the code, just in case a LEO takes the time to read these before arrest, confiscation, etc.

(430 ILCS 66/50)
Sec. 50. License renewal. Applications for renewal of a license shall be made to the Department. A license shall be renewed for a period of 5 years upon receipt of a completed renewal application, completion of 3 hours of training required under Section 75 of this Act, payment of the applicable renewal fee, and completion of an investigation under Section 35 of this Act. The renewal application shall contain the information required in Section 30 of this Act, except that the applicant need not resubmit a full set of fingerprints.

Thanks man. I was on my way to Baltimore (another failed Democratic city) and missed your thread, got back Thu but still catching up on work...

I am still curious about the actual statute. I wonder if a LEO saw the screen that you referenced showing Active, Renewal Submitted and your expired CCL whether he would act on the former or the latter.

With 31 posts I’m going to assume he is a NEW applicant.

If I’m wrong just get a admin to delete this.

If I’m correct and you haven’t been reading ANY of the previous posts here at IC, the options pretty much run this way.

Well...the subject line does say renewal... ;-)

Well I didn’t see the title just read the post.

But since he dove off the cliff and starts with the name calling, F, it.

I said if I was wrong to have it deleted nicely. And being as I unlike the OP am a Supporting Members Team sort.

I’ll adjust it my self..........

There is none. You can file for a writ of mandamus but that won't do a thing. They'll either just issue the license, which will moot the motion for a writ, or it can be adjudicated and the judiciary will say "in the interest of public safety...."

. . . .

See Section 70 Violations

(c ) A license is invalid upon expiration of the license, unless the licensee has submitted an application to renew the license, and the applicant is otherwise eligible to possess a license under this Act.

Thanks Quiet - got a photo of that section and my renewal page. Applied 14Jan, exp 05Mar, still Submitted only. Looks like its going to take at least the whole 90 days.
