News sources are reporting that Mr. Arroyo has tendered his resignation just as an investigative committee was to meet at 1:00 PM today.

If I read correctly this morning, Joe Berrios' son is also tied into Arroyo's corruption.  Gonna need more domino's...

I had to chuckle at the way that letter is addressed:

Yeah, it should have been the "Dishonorable Michael Madigan".

Must have been a typo.

And, according to his letter, he wanted to save his colleagues "from having to take such a difficult vote at a time when you are all running for re-election".  The speaker's comments don't make it sound like such a difficult vote.  His words concerning the Special Investigative Committee..."While every circumstance will not require this process, the egregiousness of these particular allegations and the evidence demanded that every effort be taken to restore the public's trust."  That quote was taken from the article in today's SJ-R. 

 

Like others have posted, here's hoping the line of dominoes is long, tumbles fast, and leads to number one.

You know I was just watching tv this am
And this got me to thinking, publishers clearing house is handing out $2500.00 per week for life!
Why wouldnt these guy twist the publishing house? Seems there is more money there.

$2500.00 per week sounds very weak........

Note 2nd to last paragraph on his letter   KEY word is Retirement   He's not using the word resign

Yep, taking his give or take $3,950/month or $47.4K a year pension, the only thing for us taxpayers to look forward to is him being convicted as upon conviction he loses his pension.

Why isn't Kwame moving to strip him of his pension for criminal acts while serving in the legislature? Lisa used to do that stuff. Or some parsing of words in the law like what happened with Burge....or a local police Lt. who got popped for stealing coke out of evidence and was allowed to retire, keep his (colossal) pension even though he was stripped of his LE cert.
