daved350 Posted November 18, 2018 at 02:40 PM Share Posted November 18, 2018 at 02:40 PM I got an email the other day about a recall for my Walther PPS M2 with the effected serial numbers, which mine is part of, and was wondering if anybody else got this email, and how long it takes to get the shipping label? I did the online form and got the email to include when sending it back through FedEx, but did not get the shipping label. If you have a PPS M2, the serial numbers in the recall are: AN3020 - AN9999 AO0000 - AO9999 AP0000 - AP9999 AQ0000 - AQ9999 AR0000 - AR9999 AS0000 - AS9999 AT0000 - AT9999 AU0000 - AU7502

Sweeper13 Posted November 18, 2018 at 03:33 PM Share Posted November 18, 2018 at 03:33 PM After you fill out the info on there website it should open another window/tab. On that new window/tab there is a FedEX box at the bottom, you click it and another window/tab will open with the label. You may get an error box at the top, just make sure you look for another window /tab with the label. Popup blockers may cause an issue, just watch for windows/tabs to open in your browser. Also when you print the label, go to your options and look for the scaling/scale option to decrease the size of the label. The label at first will be the size of a sheet of paper. You will have to bring it to a Fedex location, be careful , certain Fedex/Kinkos locations may not take the box and or it will be sent back. This happened to one of my friends with the Sig upgrade. daved350 Posted November 21, 2018 at 01:53 PM Author Share Posted November 21, 2018 at 01:53 PM Just saw this on American Rifleman. Walther Arms has issued a voluntary recall for certain model numbers of its PPS M2 pistol. An official press release reads as follows:"Walther Arms has identified a potential condition with the trigger blade safety on the on the Walther PPS M2 pistols that could potentially cause it fail. The safety of our customers is our paramount concern so we have voluntarily initiated this recall because of the possibility of the pistol firing without the trigger blade safety being activated. Please do not load or fire your Walther PPS M2 pistol and contact us immediately to arrange to have your pistol upgraded free of charge. SycamoreRuger Posted November 21, 2018 at 05:54 PM Share Posted November 21, 2018 at 05:54 PM I didn't get a label either, either an email or printed version so I just forwarded the email with the recall form information to PPSM2Recall@WaltherArms.com.I applaud Walther for jumping on this issue immediately with a voluntary recall. This should be the standard, not the norm, for gun safety issues.I am just curious, how many of the recalled pistols were made during the crazy summer rebate in the summer of 2017? They must have sold literally tons of pistols during their $100 rebate days.
GarandCollector Posted November 27, 2018 at 05:41 PM Share Posted November 27, 2018 at 05:41 PM I sent mine back today. It took me a while to get the label to print. There is no street address on the Fed-Ex label. That created issues at the Fed-Ex office. We had to look it up. Hopefully it gets there fine. I have the tracking number in hand. Illinois Sucks Posted November 28, 2018 at 08:33 AM Share Posted November 28, 2018 at 08:33 AM I ended up calling Walther. They said that they are not sure why some people were having the issue I was having. The processed things on their side and sent me a screen shot of the label so I could print it. My wife got it shipped out for me today.
SycamoreRuger Posted November 29, 2018 at 12:40 AM Share Posted November 29, 2018 at 12:40 AM I had to call and speak to a rep to get my shipping label. He had me email him the form I was emailed, then he emailed me the shipping label. Thanks. I have emailed them twice with no replies.. Guess I will give them a call tomorrow. Did you get a reply to your emails? I finally got a reply from Walther - I have pasted it below. Apparently I missed the purple button step The shipping label wasn’t supposed to come via email. Once you confirmed your information and hit submit, there was a new page that came up and had a purple button that you need to click to actually get the shipping label. If you missed that step, you can re-submit your information to get back to that page. Please print the label in landscape mode and make sure all pop-up blockers are disabled. Instructions for doing so can be found here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tech-tips/disable-popup-blocker/pcmcat748301880694.c?id=pcmcat748301880694

I like Mr Fife's response... but you could call them and ask them to mail it to you or ask a friend to bring a printer over. Said friend will probably have a solution. Take the printable email thingy to a shipping shop (FedEx, UPS) and have them print it from your smart phone or a digital storage device. The gall of any company to think we all have modern office capabilities at home : )

Flynn Posted November 29, 2018 at 04:19 AM Share Posted November 29, 2018 at 04:19 AM What if you don't own a printer ? How are you going to get the label ? Use a computer at the local library that does have a printer? Or 'save as' and put on a jump drive and take it to a shipping place or a friend, I'm sure most will be happy to print it out for you... Or just follow the recall website's choices for 'non-computer' options... Our library has a remote printing option, I can upload files to the library's website from home and then I walk in and drop $.10 per page into the printer's coin slot and I'm on my way with prints in hand. Honestly, with how cheap printers are and how dependent our society is on computers, I find it amazing that many still don't have them. I know ink and toner can be costly, but my solution to that is to buy a printer that is a few years old with 101 generic ink/toner offerings online for pennies on the dollar vs the newer models ink and toner... I have an older HP color laser and an older Brother B/W laser scanner/printer/copier both are legacy machines that I picked up for pennies on the dollar 2nd hand, generic toners are dirt cheap for both and no worries about clogged or dried up ink if they sit. Before that I had an older inkjet scanner/printer/copier and like you I was able to pick up generic inks online for about a dollar a cartridge.
