Only in Illinois and Cook county -

“People at the jail are in a confined area,” Sheriff Tom Dartsaid in a Tribune interview. “If we get one infection, we’ve got a huge problem.”

" Meanwhile, there were increased calls statewide for officials to start considering so-called compassionate releases as a way to ease the pressure and burden on the facilities, not to mention protect staff and inmates."

I was just about to say just in time to vote

But don’t they already fill out the mail in valors for all he dead folks?

There’s no need. Crook County is already a polling place and the inmates are already voting in jail

Hairgel Dart was so proud to show it on the news.

People at the jail are in a confined area,

Keep in mind, this is jail, not prison. If someone is too dangerous to be let out they wouldnt have a bail amount. Otherwise everyone else thats in there is just too poor to bond out. Innocent until proven guilty.

I don't think the jail is full of "nice" people that just picked up from their jobs, if your in the poky you probably deserved a little time to reflect on your life anyhow.

County jail has two kinds of adult residents, am I wrong?

1. Awaiting trial, whether a bail amount has been set or not.

2. Serving a jail sentence for a misdemeanor conviction, where one can be sentenced for up to a year.

Mike Remember Were talking about the Cook County system here.... you know the one thats infamous for plea dealing down to lesser charges. Also look at past examples of revolving door criminals that get caught and released so many more times before they tick off a states atty enough that they finally decide to get serious and continue the trial process.
