Is there something wrong w/ bill HR1626?

The author of this bill commented here in a prior post.

It is pretty much the same as last sessions silencer/suppressor bill. Having said that and I will be shocked if this bill moves forward, this is probably one of those bills best not discussed in specific detail in public posts.

I haven't read it yet. However if it is the same as the last bill, which had terror watch list language, I won't be supporting it.

Again, I haven't read it.

These suppressor bills never go anywhere because the legislators still believe what Hollywood has shown them concerning suppressors. That's part of it at least.. They need to be shown what it's really like using one, with a very good recording/audio playback system.

They were about 3 years ago when Todd and suppressor companies made a concentrated education effort for both legislators and reporters having them actually out to the range. A lot of progress was made then but that has all pretty much been lost.

Unless a court forces it suppressors will never be legal in Illinois.

I would love to sue the state over my tinnitus from rifles on indoor ranges even with ear plugs and good ear pro.

Anyone else?

It would be a waste of time and money. Unless you are a cop or in the military no one makes you go to the range. You go there willingly knowing the risk of hearing damage.

And ownership. Read the last sentence..

Actually the way it is worded, allows possession and attachment on handgun if going to or using on a firing range.

Ownership is not legal, that applies to any other firearms, which would excluded previous handgun portion.

They are overly complicating this for the lefties, no reason a suppressor should not be allowed for use in your home or business, for hunting, and as as well as at the range.

Rules should be same for all firearms...

Self defense is a God given right, proficiency is my earthly responsibility.
