Not to be stepping on anyone's watch, but looks like potentially a couple of "safety-tech" shell bills? Coming from an ( R ) I'd like to think they would be pro 2A assuming they stay related to synopsis.

HB4546 http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning notification of dispositions of certain criminal cases

HB4547 http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Yeah, I saw those. We'll be keeping an eye on both along with a new amendment on SB2317.

On 5/25/2017, Superintendent Eddie Johnson predicted a 50% reduction is Chicago violence within 3 years of SB1722 becoming law.  The bill was signed into law on 6/23/2017. The clock is now ticking.

Not to speak for Mauser or anyone else, but the 3 suppressor bills I recall from 2017 were referred to rules / assignments back in May or so and that's where they are now.

Havent seen any new suppressor bills filed in 2018. With all of the anti-bills last year, e.g. gun dealer licensing, many of which will be returning and changes in legislature, I'm afraid some of the previous momentum has been lost.

edit: one new suppressor bill filed this month HB4719.

This one could have some stuff tacked on in the future:

http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Electronic FOID and CCL:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

This one amends the FOID Act:

http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Not related to firearms specifically, but it has to do with orders of protection which may or may not be of interest to us:

http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Amends FCCA instructor requirements:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Not firearm related but this one honors Gold Star Families and I feel we should support it:

http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

If I'm reading this correctly, it makes Home Rule null and void:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

This one allows for carry on Public transportation:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Drops the age to apply for a foid without Parental consent to 18, from 21:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Adds Military ID number to CCL application:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

Allows for carrying of firearms on DNR property:
http://www.ilga.gov/...ionID=91&GA=100

That's as far as I can go tonight, I'll continue on tomorrow.

Mike.

Is it strange that this is scheduled for executive committee hearings next week? What does the executive committee do and are shenanigans afoot? The other bills they get look to be things like elections and liquor sales.

HB5016 MEDICAL CANNABIS-FINGERPRINTS

Very similar system and procedure to getting our CCW license in Illinois as it's handled by the ISP system, but makes the following provision:

The Department of Human Services and the Prescription Monitoring Program shall establish a system by which the information may be shared electronically. This confidential list may not be combined or linked in any manner with any other list or database except as provided in this Section.

So, this is the callout saying it won't be linked with our conceal carry database or the Illinois version of NICS.

In the other unassigned block

HB5630 and HB5637 Firework Use Tax????

Can someone please explain to me how SB 3289 by Senator Nybo can be proposed when the Illinois Supreme Court found the 1000' public park prohibition facially unconstitutional. What the hey!!!

Ok, here's what I have since the last updates. Let me know if you spot anything I missed.

The good news is that the filing deadline in both houses was 2/16/2018. That doesn't mean we won't see anything new filed, the deadline is a rule rather than law. But it should slow down quite a bit now.

Looking at "The List", I do have those already.

HB4714 DEER HUNTING-AIR GUNS

I left that out intentially. I have it in our internal list but we tend to focus more on carry and general gun rights than hunting bills.

HB5475 MACHINE GUN-PENALTIES

And I will get that added, as well as SB1711 Concealed Carry Rest Area which was reassigned to Judiciary.

Thanks.

Sorry, my apologies. I should have but did not go back to first page to check and was looking at the ones on page 2 since the "last update".

Amazes me how you manage tracking all of the shell bills filed as there are so many and they can be changed to anything from filing them in an unrelated category with a simple word replacement.

Machine gun penalties seems an odd bill increasing penalties as they are already a banned IL item for the general masses...is there a rash of full auto shootings lately?

No worries. I guess I didn't do an interim update on those. As long as we have them that's all I care about.

There have been a couple shootings in Chicago that might have involved automatic fire, or not. Someone has to have a knee jerk reaction to that rumor, of course. It might as well be Ms. Wheeler.

Didnt see these mentioned. While might be considered duplicates of others, they are new gun bills filed and would seem to be of interest to the community.

I’m kinda liking Rep. Phelps Finnie. I wonder where she got her smarts from.

SB2561 Pre-Packaged Explosive Component has been added to our oppose list.

Is it strange that this is scheduled for executive committee hearings next week? What does the executive committee do and are shenanigans afoot? The other bills they get look to be things like elections and liquor sales.

I'm sure we'll see that on the Senate Calendar by 2/22.
