That will hurt their image and credablility in the eyes of the public and that is the last thing they want. Even tho they are not suppose to worry about pulic opinion, they do because if the people to do not hold their rulings in high reguard, then they lose power. People will brand the 5 conservative justics as racists (not that they dont already), and that would give Obama even more momentum to push for ultra liberal justices as replacements. It gets bumped up and bumped up to higher and higher courts until SCOTUS. SCOTUS rules that Obama, a popularly and electorally man, is not eligible for office. What happens? He is stripped of his presidency Biden steps in? We have a full scale, nationwide riot on our hands? Republicans burned in effigy or worse? You want to talk about divisiveness, you'll have it. I didn't vote Obama and there isn't much I support him on, but we are asking for trouble with this. It would set a VERY dangerous precedent allowing a Non-Qualified, ineligible individual to sit in that chair. The Law on this, The US Constitution, is the Law. Ignoring the Constitution isn't working so good is it? And I agree with you, but we have to see the forest from the many splintered trees here. We are in enough trouble now - and it's going to get worse. Either way, we will be hurting. What defence could we offer without a legitimate leader? However , I also believe that it needs to be decided and if he isn't eligible then he should be removed !!! Will there be troubles if that were to happen. Sure there would. To many people want a free handout anymore and they see him as the one that is going to give them the freebies.
