rk0618 Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:02 PM Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:02 PM I took a conceal and carry back in 2014 at Bass Pro Shop. Long story short the instructor was de-certified and i was denied my C&C. Flash forward to 2017. I retook the class and had to submit an appeal to the 2014 decision. I submitted my appeal on 10/18/2017. Uploaded correct certificate to show I retook the class and even did the whole fingerprint thing with hopes it would speed things up. Well now it is 02/27/2018 and the State Police are telling me it will take however long it takes and that there is no timeline. I have emailed responses from them. I wanted to see if anyone knows how long this appeal process can take. I have no record and only reason I was declined back in 2014 was due to instructor being de-certified. I thought they were suppose to give decision within 120 days. Thanks in advance.
mic6010 Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:16 PM Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:16 PM No that's for the actual application process. Once you are kicked into review board purgatory who knows how long its gonna take. Other people can speak on that timeline better than I can. Gamma Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:51 PM Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 10:51 PM He's not in review board. The ISP apparently put him into some sort of "previously denied or revoked" category in their system and are now claiming that because of that they can deny him indefinitely. Gamma Posted February 27, 2018 at 11:55 PM Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 11:55 PM If they dumped you into the whole appeal queue for revoked FOIDs etc that's running 1-2 years I think. Call your state rep/senators, that seems to be the only way to get ISP to fix their malfunctions.
rk0618 Posted February 28, 2018 at 03:01 AM Author Share Posted February 28, 2018 at 03:01 AM When I log into my account on line for CC it just says "Appeal Under Review." Are you serious with the 1-2 years? That is bs.
Pickford78 Posted February 28, 2018 at 03:16 PM Share Posted February 28, 2018 at 03:16 PM I have been "appeal Under review" for almost four years (DUI classes 5 years ago). ISP wont respond to letters, emails or anything? It's pretty much hopeless?

rk0618 Posted May 8, 2018 at 06:26 PM Author Share Posted May 8, 2018 at 06:26 PM Going on 6 months now. ISP will not even respond to my emails any longer. This just sucks. All because Bass Pro Shop allowed some guy to sell his classes at their store who ended up getting de-certified
Gamma Posted May 8, 2018 at 07:39 PM Share Posted May 8, 2018 at 07:39 PM Have you talked to your state rep's office? Malfunctioning state agencies are usually red meat for legislative staff. ISP FSB needs leadership that actually respects the people that they serve and can do their jobs, or better yet, just take all the firearms services away from them and put it under a different agency. So many of these problems seem to be the result of badly designed or implemented IT processes, where they didn't think through the various workflows and contingencies. The whole process for restoring lost rights is completely FUBAR, and in cases like yours, shouldn't even be in that condition to begin with. cmac0351 Posted May 8, 2018 at 08:41 PM Share Posted May 8, 2018 at 08:41 PM I am in the same boat, my teacher got de-certified. I knew it was going to happen, took the training and emailed a new certificate to ISP before my license was revoked and was told that they put it in my file. A week after they had my new certificate, I got a letter that the license was revoked.
rk0618 Posted May 8, 2018 at 09:23 PM Author Share Posted May 8, 2018 at 09:23 PM Would you happen to have the info I can contact the State Rep? I mean this is just violations of rights. I am almost hoping I get robbed or something, JK, so I can sue the state for delaying my CC and not allowing me to properly defend myself.

rk0618 Posted July 13, 2018 at 04:51 PM Author Share Posted July 13, 2018 at 04:51 PM Well it has been 9 months now and nothing. I even emailed the State Rep and no reply. Honestly though what should I expect out of this God forsaken liberal state. Everything is ran a** backwards here. I am not expecting to ever get my CC. rk0618 Posted August 7, 2018 at 03:35 AM Author Share Posted August 7, 2018 at 03:35 AM Finally changed status from "Appeal Under Review" to "Under Review"! Only took 10 months and only have to wait another 90-120 days. Thanks to Molly B for standing up for our rights! I probably would be waiting another year if Molly did not step in. Agree - but she's fighting the "system" - which does not want anyone to even own a firearm. That said - THANKS MOLLY!!
