InterestedBystander Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:10 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:10 AM NRA has filed suit http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-florida-governor-gun-control-bill-20180309-story.html ..."the bill raises the minimum age to buy rifles from 18 to 21, extends a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include long guns and bans bump stocks, which allow guns to mimic fully automatic fire. It also creates a so-called guardian program enabling some teachers and other school employees to carry guns."... ..."The NRA insisted that the measure "punishes law-abiding gun owners for the criminal acts of a deranged individual." The group promptly filed a lawsuit to block the provision that raises the age to buy guns, arguing that it violates the Second Amendment. The Parkland gunman "gave repeated warning signs that were ignored by federal and state officials. If we want to prevent future atrocities, we must look for solutions that keep guns out of the hands of those who are a danger to themselves or others, while protecting the rights of law-abiding Americans," Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, said in a statement."...
mic6010 Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:13 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:13 AM Hopefully some fruitful lawsuits can come out of all this garbage somehow. Not sure how you can ban someone from having a right until they are 21 years old. But I'm sure the supreme court of anti gun liberals will find a way to agree with that somehow. cope Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:13 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:13 AM very misleading while some of the same..... some very different raises age to 21 makes 3 day handgun wait the same for long guns.... unless you have a license (hunting, ccl, LEO, etc) bump stock ban (who gives a crap) allows schools to arm staff allows for more mental health funding allows school security funding not bad comparatively
THE KING Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:14 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:14 AM my understanding:- Bans FFl sales of all guns to adults under 21 - Allows LEOs to search and seize all guns and ammo without warrant for baker acts. Must petition court to get your guns back. - Bans bump fire stocks, possession is a felonyIt also mandates a 72 hour wait period for gun purchases. Chicago312 Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:28 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 12:28 AM So now when a young 18 year old girl finally gets to move out on her own, she won’t be able to purchase a firearm for home defense or against any crazy ex’s? Seems like it’s setting the younger crowd especially young girls to be potential victims.

bmurph44 Posted March 10, 2018 at 01:58 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 01:58 AM Sounds alot like Illinois except for the bump stock, school arming and funding for security and mental health.
JNG3 Posted March 10, 2018 at 02:03 AM Author Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 02:03 AM No grandfathering of bump stocks. The school arming is not happening based on the number of training hours and school boards opting out.

Typically we see challenges in the liberal districts because that's where the liberals get their ani-2A bills passed.

Mustang31 Posted March 10, 2018 at 03:48 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 03:48 AM This part is scary; Read this language in Florida SB 7026 You can lose your guns for a year (maybe even two) for "recurring mental health issues," "abuse of . . . alcohol," or "recent acquisition of firearms or ammunition." skinnyb82 Posted March 10, 2018 at 03:50 AM Share Posted March 10, 2018 at 03:50 AM How in the heck can you lose your guns for a year for buying guns and ammo? There is a lot of people saying it was staged for gun control. There is mass censorship on youtube and of online search results and the 1st amendment is under attack too. That's how rights are taken away. https://youtu.be/Jrio9ABL0YI https://153news.net/watch_video.php?v=6SKK35MO7H3Y
