chicagoresident Posted March 9, 2020 at 12:46 AM Share Posted March 9, 2020 at 12:46 AM Typical bootlicking cops not knowing the laws they have to enforce. They thought polymer filled bullets were hollowpoints. Democratic heckholes tend to employ extra dumb cops who happily over enforce the stupid laws theyre tasked with so they can collect their ridiculous pension. Bitter Clinger Posted March 9, 2020 at 12:50 PM Share Posted March 9, 2020 at 12:50 PM Maybe the resulting lawsuit can draw out of their pension. That might make them think about what they're doing before violating someone's rights.
EdDinIL Posted March 9, 2020 at 01:12 PM Share Posted March 9, 2020 at 01:12 PM The story is still in the news, at least. https://www.foxnews.com/media/new-jersey-security-guard-arrested-licensed-gun The Roselle Park Police Department issued a statement to Fox News responding to the arrest, saying "Mr. Twyne was charged after it was determined that he was not in compliance with the specifications of the law pertaining to the lawful transportation of his firearm. These charges were approved by the Union County Prosecutor's Office."

ChicagoRonin70 Posted March 10, 2020 at 07:51 PM Share Posted March 10, 2020 at 07:51 PM Ideally, this will allow a lawsuit for the victim that will be used to challenge the entire onerous NJ infringement scheme, the way that McDonald v. City of Chicago did for here.
mab22 Posted March 11, 2020 at 02:27 AM Author Share Posted March 11, 2020 at 02:27 AM Another article which states there was no reason for the arrest...? Maybe they were following the Bloomberg model and decided to just throw him up against his car and charge him and let the courts deal with it...? https://freebeacon.com/issues/jersey-cops-arrest-black-gun-owner-over-licensed-gun-legal-ammo/
EdDinIL Posted March 11, 2020 at 03:34 PM Share Posted March 11, 2020 at 03:34 PM The plot thickens. According to this article, the "illegal ammo" charge will be dropped, but prosecutors are going to maintain the illegal transportation charge, because they are interpreting the law (and apparently Twyne's statements to the police) as he is only allowed to carry while performing his duties, and that driving home means he was off-duty and thus not allowed to carry. https://nj1015.com/nj-armed-security-guard-with-carry-permit-still-faces-gun-charges/

I don't see how they can maintain those charges when Twyne clearly had a carry permit. There is a picture of it on that Web site and it clearly says "Permit to carry a handgun". To me it seems that the cops and prosecutors are just trying to make Twyne's life difficult, just because they can. Twyne needs to sue them for every penny they have.
