Illinois General Assembly 5/30/2018

Mr. Andersson was going door to door during the campaign and at that time he assured me that he was a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. I believe that he had a positive rating with the NRA. Now that he has chosen not to run for re-election, he has shown his true beliefs about people’s right to self protection. I’m glad I voted for his competition.

So with the amendment Skillicon added, does that make the 72hr wait for all guns not apply to CCL holder’s? Or that CCL holder’s have no waiting period at all (cash and carry)?

The way I read it, CCL holders would have no waiting period at all. I predict the amendment dies, therefore, even though 90% of FOID holders do not have a CCL, and the waiting period would still apply to them.

71 votes is veto-proof in the House.

yup, I gotta look further than wherever I got this BAD information...

Both houses must vote to override a total veto by a 2/3 majority. If a total veto is not overridden, the bill dies. If an item veto is not overridden by a 2/3 majority, the bill becomes law with the change in funding proposed by the governor. If both houses override an amendatory veto, the bill becomes law in the form originally passed by both houses.

© The house to which a bill is returned shall

immediately enter the Governor's objections upon its journal.

If within 15 calendar days after such entry that house by a

record vote of three-fifths of the members elected passes the

bill, it shall be delivered immediately to the second house.

If within 15 calendar days after such delivery the second

house by a record vote of three-fifths of the members elected

passes the bill, it shall become law.

The Illinois Constitution says three-fifths majority to override a veto:

If anyone knows what deal he cut, time to spread it everywhere

As for those turncoat Republicans in the Illinois House, they include:

Steven E. Andressen (65)

Michael McAuliffe (20)

Peter Breen (48)

Jim Durkin (82)

David Olsen (81)

Patricia Bellock (47)

Christine Winger (45)

Hey, it's the not-so-Magnificent Seven. Without their support the bill would have failed rather spectacularly.

We can't forget to thank our "progun" downstate Democrats too. My "fine" Senator Dave Koehler, who has always professed to be on our side of the gun rights issue, has been stabbing us in the back this whole session. He has even been so good, as to sponsor almost all of the gun control bills. They are all useless.

HB5913 FOID Transferee has been filed as a trielr bill to SB337 which passed earlier today:

Deletes provision that a transferee shall not be criminally liable under the Act provided that he or she provides the Department of State Police with the transfer records in accordance with procedures established by the Department and deletes provision that the Department shall establish, by rule, a standard form on its website. Effective upon becoming law or on the date Senate Bill 337 of the 100th General Assembly takes effect, whichever is later.

So does this mean the transferee can now be liable?
