Renew and new address together?

Be sure to change the address on your driver's license or state ID, you have one, first.

Do not forgot to change the address on your FOID.

i understand that the information on your application must agree, exactly, with that on you DL and/or ID.

My guess is that there will not be an additional charge as far the CCL address change is concerned, since the CCL system would not have to accessed twice.

You will be charged for the FOID and other address changes.

Okay, so I have to do the FOID separately first? I thought these were somehow connected. Working on DL tomorrow, then I guess I'll do FOID, then CCL.

As I said above, there is some guessing on my part.

I would definitely start with doing the change of address for the DL. That is your primary identification as far as the state is concerned.

Someone else may be able to confirm or correct what I suggested for the FOID and CCL.

Also do not let your FOID or CCL expire. Based on what others have posted in other threads, that could create more of a hassle.

You would have to repeat the original training for the CCL, if it expires.

See #15 in this thread:

You can do the FOID and CCL at the same time. I recently moved and changed my DL, than when I got that back from the state I did both the FOID and CCL at the same time. It was something like $80 for both, I think. I did have a minor heart attack when I thought it was $80 for each, this is Illinois after all. All in all it was pretty painless.

I just did this very thing.

As previously stated, make sure you update your DL first. Then just go through the renewal process for your CCL.

When it gets to the 10 year residency page, add your new address and update the "to" date (from - to) of your old address from "present" to the month/year you moved. Then just finish the application process, pay your $150 (plus convenience fee) and you're done.

I did follow up after my CCL renewal by clicking the update address button for my FOID only to find that it had already been updated.

Easy peasy!

Failure to change your address within 21 days o your foid card, and 30 days on your concealed carry license is a no-no. Failure to change your foid address is a class A misdemeanor, and failure to do so on your concealed carry license is a petty offense.

I do not think you can change your foid address without changing your concealed carry address. What sense would that make? I'm pretty confident the system won't allow you to change one and not the other. Change your drivers license address and once that is changed, go renew your concealed carry license and report back.

I do recall when I renewed there are fields to input your current address. Your address may be changed at that time. Whether you are charged a separate fee for renewal or not, I do not know since my address did not change. However it does appear you may change your address as part of the renewal process.

Thanks for this.

Will you update us when you receive the new licenses. I am curious if they send both the foid and concealed carry license at the same time. I have heard from people in the past that they changed address on foid but never got a new card. Maybe it was lost int he mail, maybe the ISP never sent it. Maybe just rumor.

I'm assuming I'll be issued an updated FOID as well, as I got my CCL before they started replacing FOIDs and making the numbers match.I'll let you know, though.
