The last guy that wouldn't vote for Madigan lost his re-election cause King Madigan dropped a **** ton of money in the opponents campaign.

Olson voted with the Madigan anti-gun zealots on several bills hoping to win Democrat votes. Obviuously he was wrong. Olson threw 131,000+ DuPage County FOID card owners under the bus. She can cast a symbolic vote against Madigan for speaker but I wil reserve judgement until I see how she votes on 2A bills

In my district the idiot running again the Republican incumbent couldn't decide if he would or would not vote against Madigan. I thought to myself grow a pair and say you will vote no, maybe you would have a chance. Well, like I expected he lost. I am not voting for anyone that supports Madigan as speaker, enough is enough...
jagt48 Posted November 16, 2018 at 01:51 AM Share Posted November 16, 2018 at 01:51 AM She's someone I'm watching as well. I live in the city so I couldn't vote either way in her district, but my wife went to school with her. She has been keeping me updated on her as her campaign progressed. Scipio24 Posted November 16, 2018 at 02:22 AM Share Posted November 16, 2018 at 02:22 AM Yea, I just read this story a day or two ago as well. As a new member, it's good that she says she'll hold her word, but ultimately, she'll be crushed under the Madagin machine. His hand is in practically every democratic race, especially in the Chicago metro area. heck, he donated around $1.25 million to buy the vote in my district (49th district) and win what has been predominately a Republican district. I hope Ms. Stava-Murray sticks to her word and she can sway others...but I'll eat my hat if that happens.
DomG Posted November 16, 2018 at 02:50 AM Share Posted November 16, 2018 at 02:50 AM Ms Stava-Murray. Dead political career before it even started. Too bad. I wish her luck, but this IS Illinois. She messed with King Madigan. I hope she doesn’t have an unfortunate accident and can leave office peacefully.

How is she on 2A? Just saying that MAYBE she can ally with the down state Dems if we can talk to her. Link to comment
evilbrownrifle Posted November 16, 2018 at 04:20 PM Share Posted November 16, 2018 at 04:20 PM If Madigan has the votes she could be allowed a symbolic no. As stated the real test will be the actual legislative votes.
JTHunter Posted November 17, 2018 at 11:05 PM Share Posted November 17, 2018 at 11:05 PM The best thing we could hope for is that Madigan, in view of his age, has a stroke that renders him a "vegetable". Then he can run out his life in the "tender mercies" of those underpaid nursing home employees. Sounds like a good payback to me.
