Windchaser Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:16 AM Share Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:16 AM It didn't seem to take the ISP long to get behind again. My daughter submitted her application the last week of December and so far no FOID. I was hoping she would get it within the 30 days after reading that they were caught up and processing the new applications as they arrived. I'll be interested to see when she finally gets it. Jatwood29 Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:24 AM Share Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:24 AM Call them.. There are stories all around, including my own, of the ISP needing more info to process the FOID. Instead of contacting you, they wait for you to contact them to inquire about it. Stupid but true........mine sat there for 82 days I called them and they needed something from me. I faxed it and my card was in hand within a week.
.40carry Posted February 9, 2014 at 04:46 PM Share Posted February 9, 2014 at 04:46 PM Have her call. I've had to do it twice, once on original application and the second time when my wallet was stolen. I've gone the route of calling both the ISP directly and speaking to Judy, and the second time called my rep. Frankly I got a better response when I spoke to Judy directly. http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28067&hl=foidoffice&st=330 Post #339.... WillT Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:30 PM Share Posted February 9, 2014 at 05:30 PM They supposedly had cleared up the backlog a couple of months ago, but it's certainly possible they've been inundated with new applications since then now that they're taking apps for CCW. G214me Posted February 13, 2014 at 11:41 PM Share Posted February 13, 2014 at 11:41 PM Call your State Rep., I did that and the Reps. secretary called me back and said she called them and they said " they mailed it yesterday " and I had it a week later. ISP was lying obviously.
Windchaser Posted February 14, 2014 at 04:05 AM Author Share Posted February 14, 2014 at 04:05 AM I finally got through and they claim that they haven't received it yet. Since I needed to get the application notarized I had the range send it. They confirmed that it was sent on 1/2. I have asked them to see if the check cleared. At any rate, she has not received her FOID yet.
panterarck Posted February 14, 2014 at 04:39 AM Share Posted February 14, 2014 at 04:39 AM I sent in for a change of address towards the end of December. Called them mid January and they said it's processing. My girlfriend sent in a new app 3 weeks after me and got her FOID less than 30 days later, while I still wait for a stupid change of address. No rhyme or reason to their madness. Calling tomorrow to see what the issue is.
Last2No Posted February 15, 2014 at 04:10 AM Share Posted February 15, 2014 at 04:10 AM I sent my wife & sons FOID apps in on Jan. 5th. They both received their cards before the month was up. Not really sure why others would take longer.

chislinger Posted March 14, 2014 at 08:47 PM Share Posted March 14, 2014 at 08:47 PM My girlfriend mailed her app on Feb. 2 and her FOID arrived today, so 40 days after it was mailed. I don't know which day they cashed the check, but it seems they're running a few days behind now but nothing like a year ago.
