KPatton Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:14 PM Share Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:14 PM I recently purchased a S & W Shield EZ 380 for CC and would appreciate any recommendations about holsters that work well for that model and loaders that would help my arthritic hands load the magazines. Thanks.
InterestedBystander Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:19 PM Share Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:19 PM Its my understanding the 380EZ is the same frame size as the S&W 22 compact. Desantis holsters that fit both have the same model number. Their Mini scabbard is a belt slide which is kind of a pain to get on and off quickly/easily. Inside Heat has a spring tension clip that is very tight. Are you looking for IWB or OWB? I thought the 380EZ magazines had a pull down assist button to ease loading...are they not effective? My goto loader is a MagLULA but dont know they have anything for the 380EZ yet. MagLULA has loaders for .22 mags with a side projecting button but nothing in a .
kk5 Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:24 PM Share Posted August 9, 2018 at 06:24 PM I don't know about holsters, but as far as loaders you could do what I did for a makarov that loads the same way.Use a small 1/4 in piece of plywood and cut a hole that will slide down the mag pushing the button down.Redneck, but it works for me. MagLULA has loaders for .22 mags with a side projecting button but nothing in a .380 Part of the problem is that I am not completely decided upon inside or outside carry. Because of my "round" build, I will probably decide on outside carry, probably on the right hip. Also, the assist buttons on the magazine do help, but due to my arthritis, it is still difficult for me especially if I'm at the range and am shooting multiple magazines. I did see an UpLula loader that supposedly handles 380 at the gun shop, but am looking for more opinions since I am such a newby. Thanks for your input. Unless it is a new version/model, the products on MagLula web site do not support .380 with the side button assist. There may be others that are a different brand. As mentioned, you could try making your own but it might not be so pretty or compact. edit: there are some other mag loaders for .380 EZ https://www.amazon.com/Wesson-Shield-Magazine-Loader-Loading/dp/B07CSSC8K5 https://www.amazon.com/Hilljak-Wesson-Shield-magazine-loader/dp/B07FXYYK58

InterestedBystander Posted August 17, 2018 at 09:43 PM Share Posted August 17, 2018 at 09:43 PM I don't know if true but I read elsewhere that a regular doublestack MagLula (9mm to .45acp) works on these mags.
