seansco Posted April 5, 2018 at 03:07 PM Share Posted April 5, 2018 at 03:07 PM Sorry everyone. Can't do Illinois anymore. I am moving to Iowa and am wondering if my Illinois CCW permit will still be valid. If not does anyone know when it technically becomes invalid? I will still be working in Illinois till sometime early next year so I would like to still carry. I do have a FLA permit too. I suppose I'm going to have to call the ISP to get the details but I was hoping someone in here has some experience with this. Also if anyone has any experience getting an Iowa permit to carry that would be helpful too. Thanks everyone.
THE KING Posted April 5, 2018 at 03:13 PM Share Posted April 5, 2018 at 03:13 PM No it will not valid. I believe it will become invalid once you acquire your Iowa driver's license. Please read the FCCA as you will be notified by the ISP to surrender your FOID and FCCL.

This is what I figured it would be.My understanding is the surrender of your IL DL for the IA DL will trigger the CCL revocation process. If you get an IA CCL, you can still car carry here in IL
