  1. But that's not how it started. The sheriff's dept attempt at first contact resulted in leaving a letter stating his FOID was revoked and to turn it in. That is correct. So basically they confiscated the firearm, ran the number and immediately concluded that it was an illegal sale or whatever and assumed that my FOID should be revoked without any action or communication with the state police. When I asked the investigator why they left such notice, he said: "Yeah its OK dont worry about it"
  2. Its possible. A mistyped FOID number can take you to someone else's house for sure. The easy way to fix it is get in touch and say: "hey we messed up, sorry for the inconvenience and panic that we caused" That would be enough for most.
  3. Apparently nobody at CCSD cares to try to get some answers for me. Similar to the ISP. I guess everyone minds their own business.
  4. Nope. No news at all guys. Since the initial visit 3 weeks ago, no LE agency has tried to reach out to me, come to my house or mail any letters. Nothing. The only thing I managed to find out from my sources is that the cops that came to my house are REAL Sheriffs deputies that work in Cook County Sheriffs Dept.
  5. A small update but not much news. I spoke to a MstSgt from the ISP today, told him what happened, but he didn't seem to be much interested in proceeding further, like notify someone else or whoever is investigating these type of cases. In the mean time I got in touch with someone else who was more interested to get to the bottom of this. Can't say much more. I'll keep you posted. Cheers.
  6. Hey guys. Thanks for all the suggestions. At this point I can't post any screenshot or video because ISP needs to do some investigation on this. I will provide all info to them and see what they find out. I will keep you posted whenever I have any news.
  7. My address was changed 4 yrs ago and its up to date on my FOID and CCL. My follow up with CCSPD did not answer any questions. The phone number on the note is a cell phone that does not ring at all. It goes straight to voicemail that has not been setup.
  8. That's the first thing I did after I saw that notice. ISP said I was good. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  9. That's the exact same think my FFL.told me.what I told him what happened. He told me that even If I did confronted them and they asked for my FOID of firearms if there another person in the house with a FOID, they can't confiscate anything within 45 days because of the appeal period.Going further, I had zero problems with my neighbors. I've been living here for 4yrs, no car stickers, no gun shirts, no hunting camo gear. No bar fights or any involvment in shady stuff. My daghters are too small for boyfriends. . I am very discreet even when packing for a range. I don't wear any tacktical clothing/backpacks or hats. One other thing I was thinking is, for someone to come to my door and try to do something they might know or someone told them how many FFL transfers I did in the past. Otherwise I'm just a guy with a FOID like milions more in IL.Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  10. I tried. But I got no real answers. They cared less. They told me "keep calling that number" on the notice. I'm thinking about going to my local PD again tell them I had no luck with CCSD and give them a copy of the video. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
