I reckon drive 5 minutes more on the Stevenson and go to Shoot Point Blank in Hodgkins? NOT Midwest's 'fault' that we are all dumb enough/ financially unable enough to continue to live in Preckwinklestan.

Is this the case with just Midwest, or are there other LGS's in Cook/surrounding counties that won't sell ARs to Cook residents even if they live in a home rule where they're legal to possess?

It sucks, but their business their rules. It's worth avoiding Cook County or finding a FFL that understands pre-emption/Home rule

Gunshops blame us for voting these people in though. In most cases they run unopposed. Their laws passed are by decree and always have been. Gunshops that haven't gone out of county/to home rule towns are going to slowly suffocate

Its a head scratcher though, I'm amazed shops are still around in municipalities that follow Cooks AWB. Pretty much why Bridgeview Sports failed so bad.

A brick/mortar store with high prices I'd made even worse by cook sales tax and the gun tax Say a store gouges the price on a S50 Anderson lower and it's priced at $100. It would cost nearly $135 after taxes. People will take their business elsewhere.

I think shops are just being over cautious in this area right now.

Or did they send out a cease and desist?

Ironic as heck if true They did nothing for rooting/riots. Release criminals/Etc but want people disarmed.

Municipal laws that go against the constitution are a joke. It's easy for an individual to refuse to comply, but businesses are kinda screwed.

IIRC MegaSports also doesn’t sell to Crook residents. At least that was two years ago!

When Cook county won i. Court, it became illegal for us to sell any AWB to anyone since we are in Cook.

Dont be p***** with us, you voted in the anti gunners

So, because Midwest is in Cook County, it's illegal for you to sell ARs to anyone even if they live outside of Cook County? That doesn't make any sense.

That was the case once and probably still is. While they could legally do so, I suspect after Cook/Chicago sent undercover teams into Cook and collar county bordering stores, the Mega lawyers said it wasn't worth the risk. Ive also read SPointBlank Hodgkins is another. If true, I assume because of being in Cook also

Theres a gun shop in Oak Forest (cook county) that has 2 walls full of all types of evil black rifles. And not one sign on them saying sales to Leo's only or any other waiver.

I think Maxons in Des Plaines/Cook also sells them (or did)...dont know how that works...Home Rule maybe?

Yup,

If a city actually cares about their gunshop's business they will opt out of Cook's BS.

II wanna say it also comes down to their lawyers

"or employee of Cook County"

so the part time clerk who files traffic tickets at the county courthouse, or the secretary at the zoning board, can purchase an AR but not you........ makes sense

I believe they have to get a letter of permission to show to the gun shop, so the gun shop knows it can sell them an AR. Presumably the traffic court clerk and the zoning board secretary shouldn't be able to get letters from their supervisors, since their jobs don't involve using a gun. And government workers are all scrupulously honest, too.
