This page is for State of Illinois Senators.

edit: here's a preliminary summary: (NO changes to the old graphics in the post)

There are a Dozen new names that we do NOT know where they stand on the 2A issue,

7 Democrats are new

5 Republicans are new

TWO seats changed parties, Republican to Democrat. Mixed feelings about the departing Republicans.

Turncoat gun grabbing Republicans Tom Rooney and Chris Nybo have LOST their seats to F rated Democrats.

For 39 Democrats and 20 Republicans. Note this was an off year for 20 districts, no elections there.

32 Returning Democrats

7 New Democrats

15 Returning Republicans

5 New Republicans

It WAS 37 Democrats and 22 Republicans, now it's 39 Democrats and 20 Republicans.

The two seats that Changed from R to D are held by F rated democrat politicians Suzy Glowiack and Ann Gillespie.

I have a feeling we will come to hate those names.

Sorted worst (all reds) to best (all greens), then like groups alphabetized:

This page is for State of Illinois Representatives (House).

edit: here's a preliminary summary: (NO changes to the old graphics in the post)

Three districts are uncalled (yet uncounted mail in ballots etc) as of 12:30am Thursday:

district 45 with 239 votes difference Republican held seat. Democrat leading - counted by me as a lost R seat

district 51 with two vote difference Republican (formerly Nick Saur) held seat. Appointed Republican Helene Miller Walsh leading - counted by me as a retained R seat

district 81 with 325 votes difference Republican held seat. Democrat leading - counted by me as a lost R seat

There are 17 new names that we do NOT know where they stand on the 2A issue, they didn't even fill out a questionnaire (Republicans were advised not to, so we can't count them as anti's yet).

17 Democrats are new

10 Republicans are new

Seven seats changed parties, Republican to Democrat. (45, 48, 49, 53, 61, 76, 81)

ONE seat changed parties, Democrat to Republican (118)

(and a note on that, it was district 118 and Natalie Phelps-Finnie an NRA A rated Democrat lost to A rated (by questionnaire responses) Republican Patrick Windhorst )

and even the party seat count isn't cast in concrete yet, with 3 races too close to call. it could be 4 to 7 seats by the time it's sorted out.

For 73 Democrats and 45 Republicans.

56 Returning Democrats

17 New Democrats

35 Returning Republicans

10 New Republicans

It WAS 67 Democrats and 51 Republicans, now it's 73 Democrats and 45 Republicans.

MAYBE 74 Democrats depending upon (45, 51, 81) results

3/5 of 118 = 71

2/3 of 118 = 79

Without delving into details about the ratings,

there were:

60 rated F or D

41 rated A or B

17 new names that didn't answer questionnaire: 9 democrats and 8 Republican

-------

118

the best "the firearms caucus may be able to swing": 41 + 4("D" rating) + 17 = 62 ?

Something to note, with resignations and fill in appointments, there are "INCUMBENTS" returning that

don't have an actual firearms bill VOTE history.

Maybe you could explain what all of those colors and boxes mean?

Red and green are the vote explanation, and are self explanatory

yellow is informational for unusual exceptions in the column.

incumbents not running

no election for the district (senators)

uncontested elections show up as the incumbent's party color i.e. the party will keep that seat

pinkish color for republican incumbents and orange for new republican names

( - because red was already signifying a distasteful vote.)

blue democrat incumbents and light blue for new democrat names

In the house I didn't color code the distinction showing the six incumbent democrats that did not run,

yet the district is uncontested, because I wanted to highlight the names of those incumbents that

lost their primaries - the DANGEROUS (vengeful) Lame Ducks. Perhaps in the future in an update I will switch to the lighter blue for the

contested label to show that a new name with an unknown gun control legislative history is inbound

to the seat.

I wanted something I could glance at a district quickly to see if it's the same legislator

as the last session or a whole new individual to watch for intentions.

I will vote for Brendan Kelly over that RINO Bost

Why? Because you know how far left Kelly is already, moreso than Bost? Kelly is a shill who will only be a Madigan puppet, a "donkey" who doesn't really care for personal or Constitutional rights. If he believes he can put one over on the people, he will do his damnedest to do that.

The problem is how do we send a message to the republicans who have flipped. How do we tell them you arn't representing us so your fired. Can only do that by voting against them. But at the same time voting against them is voting away your rights. So its a catch 22. You vote for the same rep that ain't doing what they are suppose to be doing, and they will keep doing what they are doing.

Voting for Kelly sends a signal that the district wants more liberal candidates. The time to vote against Bost was in the primary.

Then you get on the phone and call their offices - FREQUENTLY !! You offer to pass out their literature at shopping malls, grocery stores, etc. HELP THEM and they WILL notice it !!

AS have I ! I have heard him say one thing to a group of people then do something different a day or 2 later. He hasn't pushed prosecution of some of the most disreputable people in East St. Louis because **ding ding ding ** they are the ones who provide those "bought and paid for" voters who always seem to provide those last few votes that turn a loss (for "dims") into a win. After all, why does ONE COUNTY need TWO ELECTION COMMISSIONS, esp. when one serves one of the POOREST cities in the country?

You might want to add Rep David Olsen of the 81st district who is being challenged by the Democrat Anne Stava-Murray. He is also a turncoat RINO who sided with the Madigan anti-gun zealots.

I did think of that.

There actually are a LOT more turncoats to add, considering their votes, which is why I stuck to just the

gun grabber endorsed turncoats for that post.

All data in that additional post were taken off my FIRST post in the thread.

Still haven't come up with a neat way to list the pro and anti votes into the mix. but I'm working on it.

Some of the Republicans thought they could have their cake and eat it too, by voting FOR something and counting on a Governor's veto to bail them out of trouble and HOPING that other considerations would influence us to vote for them ("my opponent is WORSE!!")...

If we go after every one that voted yes on HB2354 and SB3256 there isn't many left...

In the Senate, there is NO ONE that had 3 good votes (no pass, not concur, no pass) on those 2 bills signed into law, AT ALL!!

The House didn't have to concur vote, so there's just 2, and 32 of our friends managed to vote AGAINST BOTH BILLS.

Just 27 days until the election. Checking to see if I can legally add NRA-ILA's ratings.

edit - and I can't find anyplace online where Illinios' are ALL at that I don't have to type them in.

federal house, done except formatting for legibility...

Illinois Senate, done except formatting for legibility...

Illinois House, work in progress.

Moving this thread and it's election Data back to the top of the list (or at least the first page) and one week from now the smelly stuff will be hitting the rotating air mover - election night.

It will be JARRING to have the commercials revert back to commerce from politics,

Having colors red and blue back, as well as the Democrat winners willing to FINALLY admit that they ARE Democrats,

and finally no more Red White and Blue campaign signs that carefully conceal the party affiliation of the candidate.

800,000 Illinoisans have cast ballots so far, surpassing 2014 early vote counts

https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/elections/ct-met-illinois-early-voting-20181018-story.html#nt=oft13a-1gp1

...More than 800,000 Illinois voters have cast their ballots ahead of Tuesdays election, surpassing 2014s early voting tally with five days remaining until Election Day.

About 790,000 people across the state cast their ballots in person or via mail before Election Day in 2014, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. But voters still have a way to go to reach the level of early voting in 2016, when 1.9 million ballots were cast in the weeks leading up to the election...

...Suburban Cook County has seen a record spike in voter registration, with nearly 1.6 million currently on the rolls and counting, officials said; in 2016, Cook County election officials counted 1.51 million. Voter registrations in the area also are up so much that some election agencies are reporting counts that surpass their 2016 totals a notable feat, because presidential elections typically garner far more interest than midterms.

And Chicago has seen a record number of requests for mail-in ballots as of Wednesday evening, with more than 116,000 applications submitted so far a number that just surpasses the previous record, which was set during World War II when the city sent ballots to soldiers deployed around the world....
