Qualifications must be done yearly by retired Illinois officers . The state has of course suspended all qualifications because of the Coronavirus and advised all permit holders trying to renew there will be no extensions as this permit comes about as a federal mandate . How convenient the state can then allow retired officers concealed carry permits to expire and gain shredding of the second amendment to retired first responders .

Hire someone with a ccl to escort you around until you get to qualify again if you don't feel safe. You're getting paid on time and everyone else might not have a job to go to next week.

Our contact at the White House has passed this on to the attorney general's office to see if anything can be done.

Thanks for posting this and giving us the heads up.

I'm in the same boat as Patriot1776 with expiration at the end of April.  All quals through April are cancelled with all scheduling suspended.

Good luck with that Molly.

Update received today: Department of Justice is seeking a statutory fix for the IROCC Cards in the next COVID Bill. Hopefully a fix will be possible.

The following was posted on IROCC's webpage today.  I was also able to go ahead and schedule a shoot via the online scheduling system.

"IROCC will resume qualification shoots late next week.  Scheduling for IROCC shoots is now active.

An updated list of range locations, qualification shoot dates and new guidelines

has been mailed on May 1st to everyone who eligible to get scheduled.
