RyanC Posted April 14, 2020 at 08:57 PM Share Posted April 14, 2020 at 08:57 PM Let them come and get it! Lol your free now. Could mail it to the state police with a letter saying you now live in a free state and have no need for a FOID card.
Bubbacs Posted April 14, 2020 at 09:09 PM Share Posted April 14, 2020 at 09:09 PM Instead of the hyperbole why not just advise about the statements in the statute? SMFH

THE KING Posted April 14, 2020 at 09:40 PM Share Posted April 14, 2020 at 09:40 PM Under 430 ILCS 66/70 (g) A licensee whose license is revoked, suspended, or denied shall, within 48 hours of receiving notice of the revocation, suspension, or denial, surrender his or her concealed carry license to the local law enforcement agency where the person resides. The local law enforcement agency shall provide the licensee a receipt and transmit the concealed carry license to the Department of State Police. If the licensee whose concealed carry license has been revoked, suspended, or denied fails to comply with the requirements of this subsection, the law enforcement agency where the person resides may petition the circuit court to issue a warrant to search for and seize the concealed carry license in the possession and under the custody or control of the licensee whose concealed carry license has been revoked, suspended, or denied. The observation of a concealed carry license in the possession of a person whose license has been revoked, suspended, or denied constitutes a sufficient basis for the arrest of that person for violation of this subsection. A violation of this subsection is a Class A misdemeanor.

sctman800 Posted April 15, 2020 at 12:25 PM Share Posted April 15, 2020 at 12:25 PM Throw it in the trash. Mine will become invalid when I establish my new residence in Indiana, register to vote and Indiana drivers license. I had planned to have all that done by now but the virus thing has shut down the Indiana BMV's the same as Illinois. I will be surrendering mine to the Chief of Police where I lived in Illinois, nice guy we BS every now and anyway. This would be best for me because I will still be entering Illinois to visit friends and family and I don't want my plates run for some reason and come up as CCL revoked-not surrendered. We only actually moved 15 miles east but that was far enough to get us freedom. If I was never coming back I would throw it in the trash and Illinois could go pound sand. Jim. JackTripper Posted April 15, 2020 at 03:35 PM Author Share Posted April 15, 2020 at 03:35 PM I moved to Tennessee last week. After my post here, I did some more research on the laws in TN. I'm allowed to use an out of state permit for 6 months after establishing residency in TN. That's super nice, as there's no "gotcha" if I continue to carry while getting TN permit. Also I'm pretty sure that the 8 hour NRA Basic Pistol class I did in 2013 in order to get IL carry permit, can be used to fill the training requirement in TN. Luckily, I made a scan of it back then, and have it in my digital files. I got my TN driver's license yesterday. DMV was deserted because of COVID. Took 20 minutes, start to finish, and that was for RealID. Using the DL I can apply for carry online. Then you go to the DMV to show them any support docs (NRA certificate) and get the temp carry card (paper) while they mail you the permanent card. DomG Posted April 15, 2020 at 06:24 PM Share Posted April 15, 2020 at 06:24 PM My daughter established residency in Wisconsin well over a year ago. Driver’s license, voter registration- everything. She never got a revocation letter. She doesn’t own any guns. I do. Everyone in my family has a card-just in case.
BobPistol Posted April 16, 2020 at 02:13 AM Share Posted April 16, 2020 at 02:13 AM I moved to Arizona almost two years ago. Got my DL here and new tags, etc. My FCCL expired, no letter demanding its return. My FOID is still valid but no letter demanding its return. foidsafety2020 Posted June 1, 2020 at 04:17 PM Share Posted June 1, 2020 at 04:17 PM So I just applied for a foid card and the question it asked is if I was in a mental facility within the past 5 years. I clicked no, but later realized it has only been 3 years when I looked back at old messages. Do I have to worry about getting a felony or legal issues for making this mistake on the application. I can't cancel the application now and this was just last night so it didn't get reviewed yet. I'm hoping they just deny it.
