danbrew Posted October 21, 2014 at 04:27 AM Share Posted October 21, 2014 at 04:27 AM Was in Gander Mountain in Geneva the other day. Nice sign. So nice I actually went out of my way to buy a gun - which is a big deal for me as I rarely buy guns at retail...! http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-LrNgBDg/0/X2/i-LrNgBDg-X2.jpg

Xwing Posted October 21, 2014 at 02:31 PM Share Posted October 21, 2014 at 02:31 PM Yep. Good sign. It makes their rules very clear, and does not infringe! This is the model which all gun stores should be using, IMO...
lee n. field Posted October 21, 2014 at 05:49 PM Share Posted October 21, 2014 at 05:49 PM http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-LrNgBDg/0/X2/i-LrNgBDg-X2.jpg Cool sign. Though, about the only reason I might go into Gander would be to see the gunsmith.
Windchaser Posted October 21, 2014 at 06:30 PM Share Posted October 21, 2014 at 06:30 PM Cabela's in Hoffman Estates has the same basic sign there as well. Definitely prefer to see this or the little green "CC welcome here" signs as opposed to the GFZ ones. Of course no sign at all would be best. Put a 3-9x40 Nikon rimfire prostaff scope on it and was out blowing stuff up this weekend. Nice. Yeah, it was definitely a spur of the moment thing, but I'm allowed every now and again. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv116/mcc2u/MarkII.jpg http://www.chuckhawks.com/savage_markII-BV_rifle.htmhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JMQ9I2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=

G214me Posted October 23, 2014 at 01:47 AM Share Posted October 23, 2014 at 01:47 AM Gander Mountain in Peoria, Joliet and Janesville WI all have the same sign. It seems as if the Janesville gun section staff play a little game of trying to figure out who's packing, they make it really obvious by constantly looking at your waist and ankles and arm pit areas as you browse the place. weird but I didn't mind because it was a great way to test my set up, an IWB. I don't think they figured it out because the one guy was focusing on my ankles as I left.
Uncle Harley Posted October 23, 2014 at 02:38 AM Share Posted October 23, 2014 at 02:38 AM I'm pretty sure every gander mountain has that sign and the one I go to in Indiana there is no need for them to wonder just open carry lol
GWBH Posted October 23, 2014 at 02:43 AM Share Posted October 23, 2014 at 02:43 AM Speaking of Gander Mountain, anybody else heard anything about one coming to Marion? I know "people" - let me check with someone... Edit: There was some talk of one coming to Marion back when the Route 13 group was pushing for a government bond to bring in an amusement park, a few hotels, etc. A Gander Mountain store was part of that project, but nothing ever came to fruition with the bond and the whole thing was scrapped.
