From the manufacturer's web site:

The next generation of Micro Roni is here! We improved our past generation models into the ultimate conversion kit. It's Micro Roni Generation 4, and we call it Micro Conversion Kit, or simply MCK. It's is a lightweight and sturdy platform turning [a handgun] into the ultimate sub gun machine.

...

It has a barrel shroud made of aluminum with a polymer body....

Now there's some excellent marketing designed to trigger an anti-gunner.

"sub gun machine" ?

Even if you exclude preemption there's no features that would make it out of compliance. It's a pistol, the ban language of the shroud excludes pistol slides, so even if the Roni is an auxiliary shroud it's not a barrel shroud it's the slide shroud.

The Roni doesn't have a verticle foregrip, it has an angled foregrip less then 90* which is perfectly legal federally and on Chicago.

Thank you. Thats exactly what I thought, just wasnt sure about:

8-20-010 (6) A semiautomatic handgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has one or more of the following:

(A) the capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the handgun grip

But you are right, its just shell.

That's referring to a magazine that "inserts" into the gun outside of the grip, in a functional manner... not a spare magazine being able to be attached somewhere.

Like an MP5 or something similar, where the grip is just the grip, and the magazine is inserted elsewhere.
