Madigan will stay until the dark lord removes him himself (or until he’s indicted)

The Tribune reports that he claims he will take no part in naming his replacement.

I can’t wait to hear what they have him saying in the wiretap.

Things are heating up it seems. Low hanging fruit always leads to the big stuff. Lets see what come out. Hate to be so jaded but sure seems odd to leave all of a sudden with all the investigations happening.

Perhaps he was given the option to avoid dying behind bars by retiring.

He wouldn’t have a say, anyways. Only Madigan decides, not Madigan.

Hopefully soon he'll be indicted...

Why should Madigan have a say in what happens in the Senate?

Because Madigan is the chairman of the state Democrat Party and is has control of handing out campaign dollars. He controls the state Democrat Party which controls the state.

What will also be interesting is if no indictment or repercussions as a result of all the federal investigations, will Cullerton stay in Illinois or move to another state. If he moves, that would just be further proof of what is pretty much already common knowledge that Illinois is failing...

Saying health issues have stopped him from attending important meetings, Commissioner Jeff Tobolski this week resigned from his committee leadership posts on the Cook County Board and Forest Preserve District.
Tobolski, whose home and government offices were raided by the FBI in September, resigned from his leadership posts on Wednesday, just one day after Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle sent him a letter asking him to relinquish his roles, according to his resignation letter.

After the umpeeshmint trial is over, and Trump wins a 2nd term, Blago will get his pardon.  Hearsay might have taken Rod down but doubtful for DT.

Pity. Cullerton was due for another term, say 3-5 years and a date every night.

Hhmm?  Cullerton is three years younger than "Lurch" so why can't he "retire" as well - while he still can !
