nateballard Posted August 19, 2018 at 02:14 AM Share Posted August 19, 2018 at 02:14 AM I honestly feel as a law abiding citizen my rights is being violated. Every time I call ISP (Illinois state police). I am getting tired of Hearing “Under review”. It has been ten months for me with no answers, no letters, no emails or not even a call. This has to stop, we have to take action.
Teufel Hunden Posted August 19, 2018 at 12:54 PM Share Posted August 19, 2018 at 12:54 PM Why in the world would you put a minimum time on it? If it could be resolved in one day, why would you make someone wait 3 months for no reason?
mic6010 Posted August 19, 2018 at 02:49 PM Share Posted August 19, 2018 at 02:49 PM Who are you petitioning to make that the law ? The Democrat controlled legislature of the state of IL ? Yeah....good luck with that.If it was up to them they would make the time frame indefinite so they never had to legally issue another FOID or CCL card again. The whole reason it takes so long is because the whole process is set up to make the people involved overwhelmed, underfunded and always backlogged beyond a reasonable time frame. It wasn't an oversight.....this state hates gun owners.
nateballard Posted August 19, 2018 at 09:16 PM Author Share Posted August 19, 2018 at 09:16 PM The point to put some type of time frame on it because there isn’t one.
Talonap Posted August 20, 2018 at 01:26 PM Share Posted August 20, 2018 at 01:26 PM I'm pretty sure Molly has been working on this for a long time now - and making progress.
Rangerdeepv Posted August 20, 2018 at 02:09 PM Share Posted August 20, 2018 at 02:09 PM A time frame for the dumocrats to give your rights back? In Illinois? I agree..........there needs to be a law which is enforceable. Had to call my state rep a few years back to get the wheels greased for my FOID which was at 118 days. She has had my vote since then and is a rare GOP rep. Pretty sad when you have to call a rep to get one of your rights handed to you which are outlined in the Constitution already. Hydeparkaneakers Posted September 1, 2018 at 03:09 PM Share Posted September 1, 2018 at 03:09 PM Crazy been waiting since 4/4/18. Same script under review no time limit. Thinking of moving out of state now.
Southsider1 Posted September 7, 2018 at 11:52 AM Share Posted September 7, 2018 at 11:52 AM I lived in another state for two months and came back to my home in Cook county. FOID and CCL revoked and in appeal for 11 + months now. I get the same responses too when I call. Honestly, starting to lose hope I'll EVER get it back. Were they revoked because you moved to another state? If so, you likely need to call and have them reset your account so that you can reapply. You don't get to just have them back because you move back to Illinois.
lockman Posted September 7, 2018 at 11:55 AM Share Posted September 7, 2018 at 11:55 AM If I am going to sign a petition about the FOID, it must be its repeal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Southsider1 Posted September 15, 2018 at 09:01 PM Share Posted September 15, 2018 at 09:01 PM I lived in another state for two months and came back to my home in Cook county. Were they revoked because you moved to another state? If so, you likely need to call and have them reset your account so that you can reapply. You don't get to just have them back because you move back to Illinois. I actually did call them several times and asked each time if they could do this. They told me each time that when an FOID goes into "REVOKED" status, that you must go through the entire appeal process. I honestly pleaded with them to reset my account and let me reapply, but they always said no. They were always very polite, but would not do that, even when I explained everything. But no matter... last night, Friday night, I received an email from ISP stating that BOTH my FOID and CCL appeals were processed and that I should receive both cards in the mail within 7-10 days. They wrote that it was due to an inquiry sent to her attention, which I believe was an inquiry sent from member here, Molly B. I did write both the governor and my area representative, but never got a response. So it is likely from Molly B.'s inquiry. This is almost exactly one FULL YEAR in appeal. I am beyond thankful and extremely excited to get my permit and my FOID back.
Eldridge7179 Posted September 18, 2018 at 01:49 AM Share Posted September 18, 2018 at 01:49 AM Create the petition and I'll sign it. This "Under review" default answer status has to go.
