A police report states the man said he was too poor to pay for the food and wanted to have a cookout. Jordan claimed he planned to sell rest of the steaks.

When officers asked why he didn't put the steaks back when a loss prevention officer caught him stealing, Jordan answered, "I was embarrassed and didn't want to have to pull all of those steaks out of my pants in front of everybody."

Dangerous to shop there too.  Glad he's a poor shot and a worse driver.

WYNCOTE, Pa. — An armed Walmart customer opened fire during a dispute with another customer while checking out, wounding several people before fleeing the store near Philadelphia.

The suspect was later arrested after crashing into a squad car, police said Tuesday night.

The victims suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening in the shooting, reported just after 6 p.m. Tuesday in the crowded store at the Cedarbrook Plaza Shopping Center, Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Frye said.

Frye said the gunfire started after some type of argument between customers in separate lines near the cash register, when "words were exchanged" and the suspect pulled a gun from his female companion's waistband and fired "at least 10 shots."

Two women in their 40s and a man in his 40s were wounded in the legs and another person had a graze wound, while a fifth person later went to a hospital with unspecified injuries. In addition, a pregnant woman was taken to the hospital after a fall, the police chief said.

Frye said it wasn't immediately clear whether the person the man was arguing with was among the victims.

The male suspect and his female companion fled, tossing the gun from the car, but then ran into a police vehicle. Two officers whose vehicle was rear-ended were taken to hospitals along with the woman in the suspect's car, while the male suspect was also arrested after being hit with a stun gun when he tried to break the window of the police vehicle, a Philadelphia police spokesman said.

The officers, suspect and female passenger were in stable condition, he said.

Frye called the shooting a "very dangerous situation," given that it was a "very crowded Walmart, a lot of shots were low, the floor is hard ... there's a risk of ricochet."

More than 22 police departments were called to the scene, Frye said.

"We are relieved that an arrest has been made and thankful that injuries sustained by three of our associates and a customer are non-life-threatening. Local authorities acted quickly and did an outstanding job. Our focus remains on supporting our associates and continuing to assist law enforcement," Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove said.

Just as a historical footnote, the Walmart that was the original source of this thread (it was the one in Clinton) has shut its doors forever.

COINCIDENCE?!?!? I think so.

Clinton was not the original source for this topic, it was matteson.
Which closed several years ago when the new store in Richton Park was opened, so I would not really count it as a closure, just a move.
Also just about everything in Matteson has closed or moved.

I don’t follow this thread much, just check in once or twice a year and I am still shocked how long it has lived.

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. - A 14-year-old was arrested after Clay County deputies said he threatened a Fleming Island Walmart customer with a knife and demanded she have sex with him.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, a man who was nearby stepped in with his gun to help. Deputies said he had a concealed-carry license and did the right thing.

According to the incident report, the assault happened Tuesday around 6 p.m. at the Walmart on County Road 220. In a Facebook post, the women explained she thought the teen wanted to help her with groceries, but as he approached he told her, "I want you to have sex with me. I've got a knife in my pocket."

This is an interesting thread. I’m a vendor for this Walmart mentioned in the original post. I haven’t seen one of these signs up at any of the Walmart’s, but I do see them at Jewel, particularly the one in Huntley. The sign is only on the back door though and it says that it only applies to on duty vendors and employees.

In which case, it is merely a statement of company policy. It has no force of law, for a few reasons. Among them, as you may have learned earlier in this thread:
  • The company doesn't get to choose to whom the law applies. It applies to everyone or no one.
  • If the force of law is to apply to everyone, the sign has to be posted conspicuously where everyone can see it.

The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants, and it provides the further advantage of giving the servants of tyranny a good conscience.

Exactly! Thanks for all the information on this thread. It seems like ccw people are so hyper vigilant about laws that theyre the most law abiding citizens.

I've never purchased dog food at Walmart, but I have purchased cat food, but not because I have a cat, I purchased salmon-flavored Friskees cat food at Walmart to bait a trap for a raccoon.  And I can tell you that Walmart Friskees salmon-flavored cat food worked great.   Within 30 minutes of baiting the trap I had the raccoon trapped.

Thank you Walmart !
