Johnny D Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:26 PM Share Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:26 PM Took CCL class back in March 2020. At some point after completing class, I couldnt buy any more ammo or another fun for CC. Logged online and it shown that my Foid card was under review & have no idea why. I am new to owning a gun ownership & currently only have 1 gun. About 85% of the people I took the class with have received their CCL in the mail. And of course now Foid card is expired, I had already renewed & paid fee. I can get a hold of any live person at State police. Does anyone have any ideas of who, different number, email address that I can try to use to find out why my Foid card was under review, why i cant buy any ammo or guns & try to find out why my CCL is still under review. Craigcelia Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:33 PM Share Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:33 PM Welcome. Someone just posted on this topic this morning. This should give you some insight. Click here: https://www.thecentersquare.com/illinois/lawsuits-stack-up-as-foid-delays-reach-an-average-of-116-days/article_12841ae6-0d8c-11eb-ae40-6f0fc578f4ea.html And this from the ISP website FAQ:https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Faq.aspx What is the impact of the state's disaster declaration on my CCL expiration Date?Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) card holders and Concealed Carry License (CCL) holders, who submit their renewal application will remain valid during the duration of the state's disaster proclamation and for a period of 18 months (previously 12 months) following the termination of the disaster, even if their renewal application is/was not submitted prior to expiration. Renewal CCL holders will need to submit proof of their three-hour renewal training within 18 months following the termination of the state's disaster proclamation in order to maintain the validity of their CCL. Bubbacs Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:35 PM Share Posted October 16, 2020 at 05:35 PM Best guess is the CCL application triggered something on the background check and threw a huge monkey wrench into the process. If the FOID was in fact valid just before the CCL app I’d lean that way.Have you received and e-mails or a letter about this? You can check the portal and run a transfer for the FOID and see what pops first to get an idea.Just going on the timeline you posted, my guess is something with the CCL, but have you gotten anything with the CCL application by now? What status does the CCL show on the portal? When did you renew the FOID card as posted? Under review isn’t the bad one, under board review is the bad on. At some time everyone is under review! Good Luck and Welcome to the Forums
majd0910 Posted October 18, 2020 at 09:11 PM Share Posted October 18, 2020 at 09:11 PM Applied June 4 2020Went "Under Board Review" August 25 2020Now we are waiting. It is annoying, but all we can do is accept the fact and be patient at the moment. Read through the forums to pass time, I check back here every few days and seeing peoples' success makes me optimistic! Good luck!

My thought as well. Would not be the first time we have seen this reported. The CCL background uses more databases than the FOID from what I recall. I think Molly had reported average of some 80+ % of the objections at board review get overturned but dont recall seeing any new FOIA reports lately.
