vito Posted August 23, 2018 at 03:30 PM Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 03:30 PM The rest of the site seems okay, but when I try to open any thread in the Back Room subforum I get an error message. My problem or a problem on the site? Thanks.
Hipshot Percussion Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:04 PM Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:04 PM I don't know for sure, but do you have to be a 'supporting member' to use the back room?
Quiet Observer Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:05 PM Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:05 PM Are you logged in? I checked "Remember me" when I logged in, but sometimes I mistakenly hit "Sign Out" when I leave the site. I am unable to access the Backroom and my profile on my desktop, but am unable to do so on my iPad, even though I am logged in and my ID appears at the upper right corner of the screen. I rarely access the site with my iPad, so I do not know if this is new or has been an iPad problem for a while.
InterestedBystander Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:06 PM Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 04:06 PM No problem for me. 1. Are you logged in? 2. What is the error message?

vito Posted August 23, 2018 at 06:12 PM Author Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 06:12 PM I was logged in, or I wouldn’t even see the “Back Room” part of the forum at all. It was only when I tried toopen a thread that I received the error message. This was while on my PC. When I get home I will try again, and make note of the error message if there is one. Quiet Observer Posted August 23, 2018 at 07:19 PM Share Posted August 23, 2018 at 07:19 PM Just tried on my I-phone and had no problem. Just the opposite of my situation. I wonder if it has anything to do with how we first signed in as members. I first enrolled via my desktop. I seldom use my other devices to log in. I have no answer. Just presenting information for someone with more back ground.
Scipio24 Posted August 24, 2018 at 12:51 AM Share Posted August 24, 2018 at 12:51 AM Hmm. That's odd. I access via my internet browser (on multiple PCs) as well as my phone. Haven't seen any issues with opening threads in any forums. Do you by chance have any specifics on what the error message says?
vito Posted August 24, 2018 at 12:23 PM Author Share Posted August 24, 2018 at 12:23 PM For whatever reason, the problem has resolved. This morning I had no trouble opening up individual threads while on my PC.
ChicagoRonin70 Posted August 24, 2018 at 08:15 PM Share Posted August 24, 2018 at 08:15 PM For whatever reason, the problem has resolved. This morning I had no trouble opening up individual threads while on my PC. I periodically have the problem with that, as well as being repeatedly signed out of the site when I click links or try to go into my mail. My tech guy said it is something to do with this site's authentication protocols. The quick work around that I found is to click the "remember this computer" box when you are first signing in to the site; that seems to put some sort of cookie into your browser that overrides the repeated boot-off issue. Just remember to clear your browser history after you are done, for security purposes.
