jagt48 Posted April 5, 2019 at 08:48 PM Share Posted April 5, 2019 at 08:48 PM This looks fun. Do they allow steel/steel-cased ammo during matches? Assuming it isn't being fired at a plate.

jagt48 Posted April 5, 2019 at 09:02 PM Share Posted April 5, 2019 at 09:02 PM I've shot as a guest there once and used Tula 7.62x51, so I know it's allowed. I was curious about in competitions. For example NPCCC doesn't allow any steel during competitions because it can damage the steel plates, so I stick with 5.56 because brass 7.62 is double the price. The ASC website just says that they use 3-Gun Nation rules.

Assuming it isn't being fired at a plate.Terminology is important here. Steel CASED is fine. Steel CORE is very hard on steel targets and too much can cause cratering and ricocheting. If the stage has steel targets don’t use steel core or green tip 5.56. If it’s paper, no problem.

Jeffrey Posted April 6, 2019 at 01:08 PM Share Posted April 6, 2019 at 01:08 PM This is an awesome event. In the past they’ve had groups out offering to fire a .50BMG, full auto, firing from a moving MRAP(I think). Well worth the trip.
