spanishjames Posted July 9, 2018 at 02:54 AM Share Posted July 9, 2018 at 02:54 AM I know I’m personally embarrassed, when they throw women, minorities, and LBGTQ out of pro-Trump rallies.I'm gonna have to call you out and ask for some examples of this ever happening.Google is your friend. QuoteOctober 29, 2016...Trump glanced at the person his supporters were singling out: A black man wearing a suit jacket and sunglasses...."We have a protester," Trump declared. The crowd booed....Somewhere in the crowd, Trump's security detail escorted a man out of the rally as the audience cheered....The person in question turned out to be C.J. Cary, a North Carolina resident, who claims to be a longtime Trump supporter....Cary says he is a Marine veteran and Trump campaign volunteer, and he claims to have been corresponding with Trump since 1992. That year he wrote Donald and Ivana Trump "an impassioned letter" upon hearing they were separating. To his surprise, he says, Donald Trump wrote back, and he has been an ardent supporter of his ever since....In August, Jake Anantha, a half-Indian student at Central Piedmont Community College, attended a Trump rally in Charlotte....Security officials told Anantha that he was a "known protester," and despite evidence to the contrary, insisted that he must leave.Quote2016-03-11...East Carolina University student Adedayo Adeniyi attended a political rally held by the Republican presidential hopeful on Wednesday night. The 20-year-old says that he went not to protest or demonstrate but because he was curious to see for himself what a Trump rally would be like. Video footage captured by Mr Adeniyi appears to show police and Trump supporters approach him and demand that he leave. All three of those examples were either actual instigators who were there to disrupt the rallies, or a case of mistaken identity. It's disingenuous to claim minorities and women are regularly singled out and kicked out of Trump rallies. https://www.cnn.com/2016/08/19/politics/indian-man-ejected-trump-rally/index.htmlhttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/black-student-thrown-out-of-donald-trump-rally-after-crowd-confuse-him-for-a-protester-a6924716.htmlhttps://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/politics-columns-blogs/under-the-dome/article111038352.html

2smartby1/2 Posted July 9, 2018 at 03:37 PM Share Posted July 9, 2018 at 03:37 PM What we have to do is incorporate gun rights with other rights. The anti-gun movement is made up of different interest groups, as evidenced by the signs they carry. They typically are for:More jobsLess violenceAnti-gunAnti-TrumpPro gayPro women's rightsPro minority rightsPro immigrantPro unionPro teachersPro socialismPro anything anti-conservative, etc. Of course they can gather a huge crowd, they're actually different groups who gather for every leftist cause under the sun.Every attempt I make at extending our reach to immigrants (legal variety), minority, or LGBT communities ends up getting derailed by the anti-immigrant, anti-minority, anti-gay commentary commonly found in the generally conservative white male dominated pro-second community. We need to clean up our act before they'll feel welcome enough to stand beside us and fight, March, and vote with us. It doesn't mean one has to like them or agree with their lifestyle, but so long as our community keeps verbally slamming the door shut on accepting them as allies we can expect them to continue to remain distant and withdrawn. This isn't written as a chide or tongue lashing, it's an observation of us being our own worst enemy. Sir, you just nailed it... (This is coming from a middle aged, college educated, upper-middle income, former swing-voting, black male). With that said, we probably all have different reasons for owning weapons. I purchased my first pistol well over 20 years ago, just to go plinking. As I got older, it sat in my safe for over a decade, untouched. While I was clearly fine with gun ownership (2A)....I just wasn't a big "gun guy". To draw in a different crowd in terms of gun rights, I think there needs to be a big shift in tactics, optics, and perception. But, that means there needs to be a core shift as well. And the lamestream media never forgets to mention race, to make it an issue.... I work with and get along with people of all demographics. I'm a staunch 2A supporter. Trump IS my president. I've never understood why both right and left leaning individuals can't just shake hands and get along. I asked a very simple question about the recent 'peace' march by Father Pfleger's, and in return was basically called a racist pr..., and asked if I was one of the shooters creating the violence in Chicago, primarily because I own a modern sporting rifle. Mack Posted July 10, 2018 at 12:14 AM Share Posted July 10, 2018 at 12:14 AM During the national assault weapons ban push after Newtown, there were thousands of protesters at state capitals throughout the country. There was an immediate perceived threat and gun owners responded in massive numbers. But generally you have to organize such events and provide transportation alternatives and make sure that working people can get the day off or save a weekend day to attend. Gun rights don't have organized "resistance" lists and members of sister organizations sitting around to be called out and bused in. Also the weekends before and after the July 4th holiday when it is in the middle of a week is a terrible time to try to organize a gun rights rally as most people have long standing commitments that time of year or vacations and trips planned. In any case don't hold a rally or protest unless you have done the grunt work to ensure you will have a good turn out.
