Willis is not concerned about the civil liberties of firearm owners, and says she would be ok with fingerprinting every citizen if it makes the state 'safer'.

Rep Windhurst (sp?) questioning the Constitutionality of fingerprinting for basic Firearm ownership, if any other states (Hawai maybe) and if those states are being challenged (Hawai is).  Willis alleges her lawyer says it's ok.

Someone please find out who her lawyer is

Ms. Wilis brings up the haggard "you can't yell fire in a crowded theater".

Yet, you can yell fire if there is a fire, or you reasonable believe there's a fire. And no one tapes your mouth shut upon entering the theater as a prior restraint against your doing so.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—...
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.   (2 Corinthians 4 NIV)

On 5/25/2017, Superintendent Eddie Johnson predicted a 50% reduction is Chicago violence within 3 years of SB1722 becoming law.  The bill was signed into law on 6/23/2017. The clock is now ticking.

ISP representative is avoiding direct answers about FOID act.  He is BASICALLY also saying they support the bill because they will get more funds, and are currently unable to do what they are already tasked with under FOID.

Would be nice if someone mentioned the last bill that Chicago police guaranteed would reduce crimes involving firearms by 50%.  For instance, what was crime reductiion and how many prosecuted under that new law.  Somehow, I doubt the CPD rep will address that.

ISRA says agreed to make CCL funds what they are because Quinn was purposelly under-funding FOID for political reasons.  Points out that CCL added 78 Million to same fund.  "Where is the lack of funds?"

I see that Jay Hoffman (D, Collinsville) is a member of the committee. I wonder (this is a rhetorical question) if he knows how many active FOID card holders there are in Madison County? At the end of 2017, it was just under 70,000.

He is pointing out the realities AND what it actually takes for an FFL to perform the personal transfers , particularly for $10, flat out says the FFLs will be in court if this is passed.

Now he is stating how costly fingerprints are, and the realities of cost of FOID ($200+) every 10 years.

He emphatically states Aurora is negligence by government, particularly ISP, but local, regional and State.  Ended with if it goes to Pigsters desk, they will file for an injunction so fast...

Female rep missed name says, Aurora killer was going to kill whether he gets a gun or not.

Another is saying, feels like bill is "Never let a good tragedy go to waste", and that this bill doesn't seem to fix anything that happened in Aurora, but more a wishlist for gun grabbers.

Todd basically sayin yep, 100%, as does NRA person, this is just to advance an agenda, without fixing any underlying issues.  Mention again, how in panels leading up, the MO of the past, getting interested parties involved.  Askeing about Senator Wheelers bill 3839, if ISRA, NRA would support.  They say, with a little tweak, it's a good start, some parts they are hesitant to support, but could be fixed (ISRA, Todd, NRA).  Rep adds I hear, if we had spent time, and not done Willis underhanded crap, we could have had a good bill that works, and not penalize 2A folks.

She just brought up, we have more people killed by hands and hammers than firearms, and mentally ill people will always find a way to kill.

One of Willis' sycophants just blew smoke up her rear end, but is now bringing up underserved communities.  Was it discussed.  Wilis, nope, not any real discussion.

Willis says Todd wasn't invited before, because they have butted heads before.  Basically she is saying in PC way, he wasn't because he wouldn't agree with her ideas.

Republican 100% opposed to the bill being taken to floor with an amendment.  Wants it back in committee after amendment(s).

The less she bends the greater it gets struck down in the courts. Something like this has a chance of going to SCOTUS even

Willis being asked, if current laws had actually been followed would Aurora have been stopped.  Willis, hims and haws, obfuscates, then says, I know if he had been fingerprinted when applying for the FOID, it would have stopped him from getting FOID.  And, ignores, he would hav obtained it illegally.
