Instructor need to take a 3 hour recert

Sorry if this has been asked....

Does an Instructor need to take another Instructors 3 hour recert class, or can they sign off on themselves?

I asked the ISP via email and received this back "All CCL license holders are required to submit a completed CCL Refresher certificate."

Any ideas?

I plan on signing mine as instructor and student and sending it in.

I read section 75 (h) as saying instructors are exempt from taking the course:

Section 75

(h) A person who has qualified to carry a firearm as an active law enforcement or corrections officer, who has successfully completed firearms training as required by his or her law enforcement agency and is authorized by his or her agency to carry a firearm; a person currently certified as a firearms instructor by this Act or by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board; or a person who has completed the required training and has been issued a firearm control card by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall be exempt from the requirements of this Section.

This is just typical Illinois.......

Here is what I sent the state:

"Ok.....Silly question.

I will need the 3 hour refresher next year, do I go to another instructors class or am I automatically granted the refresher since I am an instructor? "
Their answer was "All CCL license holders are required to submit a completed CCL Refresher certificate."

I read the ISP response as: You do NOT need to take a course but you DO need to submit a cert to satisfy a computer program. Of course I could be wrong!

This is ridiculous, but I spent way more than 3 hours writing my curriculum, so....
