patriot1776 Posted December 3, 2015 at 02:52 PM Share Posted December 3, 2015 at 02:52 PM Since records were broken on black friday with background checks for firearm purchases , those weapons will be hungry and need to be fed so i expect to see ammo shortages and prices going up . Time to look for sales and get to the stores when they open .
GTX63 Posted December 3, 2015 at 04:43 PM Share Posted December 3, 2015 at 04:43 PM I was in Rural King this morning buying a handgun. Lady working the counter was busy with a gun purchase in front of me and a guy came back while I was 4473ing to buy a gun behind me. She said it has been steady all week. tnertb Posted December 8, 2015 at 05:57 AM Share Posted December 8, 2015 at 05:57 AM .22LR at Gander Mt. in O'Fallon, IL Dropped in yesterday looking for .357 brass & bullets for reloading - NADA. Did find Federal bulk 36 gr. HPs for only $24.99/525 rds.! This makes it only $0.0476 per rd. which is the lowest price I've seen in a LONG time. When this store first opened in late May, they had Winchester bulk 36 gr. HPs for $34.99/555 ($0.063). The Walmart in O'Fallon has only had .22LR ONCE (that I know of) since the fall of 2012. Gander may be higher priced but at least they HAVE some at a fairly reasonable price. dang, I need to start going there more often.
tnertb Posted December 17, 2015 at 10:45 PM Share Posted December 17, 2015 at 10:45 PM Well as of 3pm this afternoon O-Fallon Gander Mt. had it's shelves restocked again with various 22L. Plus an extra 10% rimfire.

patriot1776 Posted December 22, 2015 at 12:41 PM Share Posted December 22, 2015 at 12:41 PM Lots of gun purchases in the last 30 days so i expect massive ammo purchases to follow , especially as spring approaches and people return to the outdoor ranges . GTX63 Posted December 22, 2015 at 08:42 PM Share Posted December 22, 2015 at 08:42 PM I expect on the day of O's executive order, the hoarders and neck beards will be snapping open their folding tables and adding a decimal point to their ammo price sheets in anticipation of the next gun show. mbnut Posted January 9, 2016 at 04:44 AM Share Posted January 9, 2016 at 04:44 AM I got a full brick of stingers from my local Walmart today. The limit notification was no longer longer posted. The employee that started checking me out could not get the brick bar code to ring out. So the manager showed up and was not happy that I was getting the whole brick. But I pointed out the sign was not up and he let me have them. Lol

He gets $10 per brick from his brother in law to hide the 22 everytime it comes off the truck and give him dibs.

RoyB Posted January 25, 2016 at 01:23 AM Share Posted January 25, 2016 at 01:23 AM Palatine walmart has a bunch of 40gr cci on the shelf. Picked up 3 yesterday and stopped by tonight for giggles on my way home...picked up 3 more. Guy said limit 3 is over, but at almost $10 a box I think I have enough for now. I will be keeping an eye out for the 525rd box. Every time I go in there the guy tells me they just had a bunch on the shelf. Wheeling store has cci shorts on the shelf for 3 days now. I can't remember ever seeing so little. If you want to see worse, come to the Vernon Hills store, none on the shelf, ever, because they don't sell any type of ammo. The Dick's store down the block does, so it's not a village issue.

I'm looking to buy a fair amount and the cheapest I can find is $0.07 / round shipped for 40 grain Agulia. The going price is the price in which they are readily available, hence it is $0.07 per round. That 40 grain high velocity Aguila is top quality ammo by the way, on par with mini-mags.
