Call to Action 2/22/2019 - Witness Slips Needed!

Our Work is Paying Off

But There's More to Do

Last Tuesday a total of 30 firearm related bills were on committee agendas for possible hearings. We asked you to help us oppose many of these, and your work paid off. Most have been referred to subcommittees where we are safe for now. A couple were held for future consideration, one of them being HB892 UUW - Firearm Detection designed to outlaw firearms made from modern materials.

A bill newly assigned to committee, HB2253 Untraceable Firearms hopes to define things that are not firearms, partially finished receivers and downloadable code, as actual firearms subject to a new ban. This bill is a clear violation of both our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights.

Finally, HB2254 Safe Gun Storage, asks us to pretend DC v Heller is not the law of the land as the sponsor seeks to overrule the Supreme Court by legislative fiat.

Join us once again in opposing these attempts to end our rights in Illinois!

Please continue to contact your Illinois State Legislators regarding these bills, and file the witness slips linked to below.

Are they serious? How would they like it if SCOTUS like limited them to using rusty hangers?Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk

Slightly confused. Bills assigned to firearm subcommittee but no meeting is set for the subcommittee. Yet there is still a meeting for bill with the Judicial Criminal committee including witness slips. Is that meeting really the subcommittee?

for example

HB0364 Steven Reick CONCEALED CARRY-EXPIRATION 02/19/2019 House To Firearms and Firearm Safety Subcommittee

**** HB 364 Judiciary - Criminal Committee Hearing Feb 26 2019 3:00PM Capitol Building Room 118 Springfield, IL
