All board members voting yes. Shocking.........

So not having been there I don’t have a feel for the population of the town but is this a dictatorial move on the part of the board? Are they really representing an entire community of gun hating left wing marxists? It seems that for a board to unanimously vote to restrict the rights of its constituents it would need unanimous approval from the people they represent?
Again maybe I am overthinking this whole thing called a constitutional republic?

You've got it about right. I doubt any of them sought office based on representing a single political party, their opposition to Trump and support of the resist movement or their views on any national SCOTUS level issue. It's up to their subjects living in Northbrook to let this stand or throw them out next chance.

A lot of nice but entirely useless arguments were made to a board that had already decided its course of action. Bump Stocks are one thing (about as uphill as you are going to get) but what about the AWB? Is there going to be another comment option?

They are not doing this for safety. They are doing this as a form of virtue signalling and if you really peeled back the onion, because it gives them a sense of power after their beloved candidate shockingly lost the big election. RESIST!

Wanna win, IMO, Make this personal, make this angle public (and there is a ton of evidence to do this) make this about the next time they have a board election. Even better, who in Northbrook is in personal contact with their trustees? Is there a potential split or what is the will on the AWB component?

And attack the Moms  feelz  with facts. Make them look as ignorant as they are. They run out of talking points and knowledge after you just scrape the surface. Ask them about their funding their organizing. Attack

This is nonsensical.  They are an incorporated city.  If they do not have a ban to enforce in the city code, they have nothing to prosecute anyone for.  Seems like a nice lawsuit in the making to me!

Facts do nothing, most of the pro gun side provided statistics, facts and logical arguments.. the 'trustees' voted unanimously anyway.

They want to be seen as "doing something" so they did.. the whole thing supposedly came out of the parkland shooting, and here they are restricting 2% of the population with CCL licenses in restaurants.. it's stupid and they know it. They wanted to ban something, anything they could get away with, and that's what they found.

That's why, IMO, you have to make the issue about them and make it hot. Make it messy. Let them know they are crapping on their neighbors for the feelz. Bump stocks could be the symbolic give away, they are on their way out nationally. The question is what's going to happen with semi autos, lawsuits or not. It's best to stop it before a lawsuit.

I would personally love to make the issue about them, and how they are leftist opportunistic scum that don’t know their rear end from a hole in the wall

No carrying in any restaurant that sells booze huh???? Shove this in their faces

http://www.foxnews.c...police-say.html

A man “opened fire” Thursday in an Oklahoma restaurant and injured at least two people before he was fatally shot by a bystander, police said.

The gunfire unfolded at about 6:30 p.m. local time inside Louie's on the Lake in Oklahoma City, Fox 25 News reported.

The unidentified shooter entered the restaurant and fired his gun, hitting at least two people, Oklahoma City Police tweeted. The man, police said, "was apparently shot-to-death by an armed citizen."

Authorities initially said that "three citizens were injured, two of whom were shot." The two who were shot were brought to the hospital and are expected to survive, police said, who added that the suspect is the only confirmed fatality.

I'm surprised Lee Goodman didn't mention his favorite reason for banning carry at places which serve alcohol. The Mariano's grocery store in Northbrook serves wine to customers and is not posted and that has had Lee hopping mad since the store opened. Having failed to convince the store's management, he's put his efforts into an ordinance to take the decision out of their hands. He could just not shop there, but freedom offends him.

Maybe they will challenge it. Like to see them do that. Or stop serving in stores for a little bit and see how their customers feel about the new rule.
