Gebbster Posted August 19, 2014 at 05:43 PM Share Posted August 19, 2014 at 05:43 PM Second post, well about time I did more than just read..I just got a call on my cell phone, so nice that people sell those numbers... about wanting to know if I support Rauner in the upcoming election. Well has to be better than Quinn right? But then he asks if I would also support Jim Moynihan who is running against Michelle Mussman for the 56th district in northern Illinois. We all know Mussmans take on 2A and it is not good but has anyone heard anything regarding Moynihan? I know that Illinois Carry will not endorse folks etc and I am just wondering if the awesome folks here have any details that can be shared while I did up some information myself. Thanks all. Xwing Posted August 19, 2014 at 05:45 PM Share Posted August 19, 2014 at 05:45 PM Mussman is quite terrible. Anyone who runs against her would get my vote...

Smallbore Posted August 19, 2014 at 09:33 PM Share Posted August 19, 2014 at 09:33 PM I am having a hard time seeing how Rauner would be better than Quinn. One is a known pathetic antigun liberal. Come to think of it, this describes both.

Come to think of it, this describes both. I share the skepticism of Rauner, but at the end of the day a vote for anyone other than Rauner is an extra vote that Quinn wins by. Just sayin. We know what we have with Quinn - we have to get a super majority to override the veto every time. I doubt that will ever happen with Rauner. Smallbore Posted August 19, 2014 at 10:33 PM Share Posted August 19, 2014 at 10:33 PM I have gotten tired of being lied to then voting for the lier. Tell me how Rauner is better then Quinn. He is a Chicago machine lacky. Illinois c does not have a future.
RoadyRunner Posted August 19, 2014 at 10:36 PM Share Posted August 19, 2014 at 10:36 PM With you - but in reality there is a simple practical choice. Quinn or Rauner. Choose one - and vote for him. Choose neither, and the incumbent will likely win - so choosing neither is essentially a choice of Quinn. Like it or not.

NakPPI Posted August 20, 2014 at 12:14 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 12:14 AM Quinn, the guy who vetoed concealed carry and has awb on his platform or Rauner who was criticized by the media for saying that we have enough gun laws. Hmm. Hard choice there. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
Craigcelia Posted August 20, 2014 at 12:39 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 12:39 AM I personally know Moynihan and his 4 brothers. No way in the world would I vote for him. Care to elaborate? Is he not a 2A supporter? Mussman is in my district, he has to be better than her. She's a no vote for us.

mrmagloo Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:32 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:32 AM Not a 2a supporter. He was a big shot in local 134. Lying, cheating, unfaithful, extortion, bribes. Pretty much the worse person you could imagine. That pretty well defines every Illinois politician out there. Should fit right in.
top_notch Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:46 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:46 AM Mussman is my rep. She is anti and a shill (for Madigan). And we have Froelich "B. Arnold" to thank for her. Both are worthless.

III Posted August 20, 2014 at 04:39 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 04:39 AM I don't get it.... Of course, I am not familiar with that program nor the group running the ad. The beginning makes it seem like he is pro 2A.... The end makes all candidates seem anti 2A
tkroenlein Posted August 20, 2014 at 04:50 AM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 04:50 AM That ad seems like it is meant to be a smear by Quinn. It just seems odd to us because we're not the target rabid anti audience that it was directed at. I'm sure it makes perfect sense to those that don't have any sense. OldMarineVet Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:34 PM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 01:34 PM I find it interesting that Quinn thought that "attack ad" above is so damaging. Rauner only supported the current law/our rights... we can decide to own a rifle for target shooting, hunting, and any lawful activity, can't we? If Quinn thinks that position represents a show stopper for anybody running for government in Illinois, he's really warped. Doesn't he remember what happened to his veto on Conceal Carry? I'm hoping that the question surprised Rauner and he said what we really felt deep down. But that makes me warped to think he might be dedicated to anything deep down
Xwing Posted August 20, 2014 at 03:08 PM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 03:08 PM Rauner is "fair weather" friend. He is pro-2a, because it is in his best interests to be so. Quinn is an established and committed enemy, and works hard to destroy freedom every chance he gets. There really is no comparison. While of course I would rather have a true & committed friend to the 2nd amendment, I will take a fair-weather friend any day over a determined enemy! mrmagloo Posted August 20, 2014 at 06:42 PM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 06:42 PM That ad Molly posted makes no sense. Coming from a guy who is constantly trying to undermine our 2A rights, they think this ad portrays Rauner as being more anti 2A? I'm starting to believe this retarded behavior is a function of them being truly retarded.

DonP Posted August 20, 2014 at 09:45 PM Share Posted August 20, 2014 at 09:45 PM I really don't care if Rauner made an investment deal with Rahm 10 years ago for something or other, so that makes him toxic, or whether some of you think he's just another Madigan plant. I know Governor Potato Head is hard set against our rights and has proven it time and time again. If Rauner is willing to veto any new taxes and infringements on our rights, it's better than the status quo where we have hundreds of people leving the state every month and are 49th in job creation because of these weasels. Stay home or vote Libertarian etc. and it's one more Chicago gerrymandered machine vote for Quinn and you risk all of our rights. Fer cripe's sake, I live in Frankfort and Bobby Rush is my Congressman! That's just twisted and sick. I'm voting for Rauner and for Obeweiss against "Lying Sack 'O Durbin", who called my kid in the Army in Afghanistan a Nazi. "Why re-elect Pat Quinn?" "Because Rauner is rich." Yeah, that sounds intelligent.
