Gov. Rauner, however, told supporters today that he will veto the revamped gun shop regulatory bill when its sent to his desk. He vetoed an earlier version. Rauner said he didnt think it would help stop gun violence.

Reading the comments on that website is always an eye opening experience.

This is another example of why we must support Rauner in November!

Bruce is a moron.  With today's signature on the red flag bill it is surely making it harder to put the mark next to his name on the ballot.  Damn this state.

It doesn't make it any harder for me because I know what we will have if JB gets elected.

Pretty much says it all. Don't think JB is going to save any babies either...

You just run out of things to say about this state after a while. It all becomes repetitive. Same stuff, different day.

Rauner does make it difficult to vote for him on occasion. This is one of those occasions.

But there is really no other choice, as usual.

Rauner for me. What other Governor will let Illinois Carry in his office and listen? Not JB.

All I have to say after reading all the comments above is that if this is the WORST "anti-gun" stuff that happens to
us in Illinois in 2018 after the viral stirred up force 5 hurricane that hit as hard as it did, we did a REALLY (expletive) OUTSTANDING JOB.

I concur

This is absolutely correct.  Perspective is critical.

Never forget that all of this was the result of a perfect storm that the antis created and patiently waited for.  They used inflamed public opinions (that have largely returned to pre parkland levels), piles of cash and goodwill and had politicians tripping over each other to "do something."  Even the "gunshine" state, Florida, saw anti gun legislation pass.  All things considered, they spent their goodwill and didn't get all of what they wanted.  I think that we did really well.
