I purchased a pistol from Bud's through an FFL in Cook County about a month ago. No problems.
This FFL was on their list, I live in Chicago and provided my Chicago address.
They did ship spare mags to me... 10 rounders which are what this .22 pistol takes.
Bud's is not on the list of those who will ship ammo to a Chicago address so I have never ordered from them... a buddy in Skokie receives ammo from them.

I logged in, just for fun, and got this pop-up message:
Illinois Restrictions
Due to the extensive Illinois State / Cook County restrictions on firearms/firearm related products please verify items being purchased are legal to ship to your area by visiting the following link: Illinois Restrictions
It said nothing about Chicago.
My purchase was the last week of August, 2019.
This note appears at the end of each Illinois section:
Revised 18 May 2018 - DHR

There's 3 notifications that I get when I log in, do you only see the Illinois/Cook County ones when you scroll between them?

I'm just getting two:
1- Illinois - Cook County Notice
2- Illinois State Notice
Both refer me to the same Illinois Page.
I wonder why you are getting three.
Call (or email) them and ask...
Report back!
*Just a thought...
If you have a 'restricted' item in your shopping cart before you log in, that may trigger the 'can't ship to Chicago' message when you do log in. Mags over 10 (or 12? or 15?) might trigger something. There is a disclaimer that guns are as they come from the factory. IE they won't be removing or swapping 'restricted' mags.
My Skokie buddy (Cook County) did buy a pistol with two 13 round mags from Bud's. That was before May '18 and his FFL was in Lake Co.

I just made my account yesterday so there's nothing in my cart. My mailing address on the site is a Chicago address if it matters. I'll see if I get it again today and maybe contact them via their online chat to clear this up if I do see it again.

...
...Illinois Restrictions
... Illinois Restrictions
The "no semi-auto rifles" in the pdf is basically a cop-out on Bud's part. For example, I'm pretty sure there's no place in Illinois that bans a 10/22 (yet). Bud's has just decided that it's not their job to figure out what's legal and what isn't. They're not the only place to do that.
Meanwhile, feel free to buy elsewhere.

Realize that arguing the law with customer service isn't going to get you anywhere. They're not lawyers. They don't determine company policy. Even if they did, they're not going to bow to your authority.
Asking them why the notice is on the site may or may not yield an answer that resembles the underlying reality.

Sorry but I see this no different then the mayor of San Fran not allowing people to fly to certain states.

Another option:
If you created an account because you want to buy a firearm from them, you could go ahead and attempt the purchase.
My first choice for purchase could not be shipped to Illinois (low melt point - stupid Illinois law) so I chose a similar product.
It all worked out rather quickly... I sent image of my FOID to my new FFL, checked out at Bud's and picked up my purchase 3 days later. The spare mags arrived a day earlier at my home.
I'll use this FFL again, even if I don't buy from Bud's.

I had the same experience three years ago for a legal bolt action rifle. They will never see another penny from me when there are so many other people who will ship to my FFL. Want the best price, enter the UPC code followed by best price. Bud's is ignorant and a friend to nobody in Illinois.

If they choose not to sell and ship certain items, guns, ammo, toothpicks, shoe polish, whatever, that is their right.
If you do not like it, spend your money elsewhere. The 2nd Amendment recognizes the right to bear arms, it does not require anyone to supply them to you.

I never had an issue with Buds. I live in Cook county and have stuff shipped to a Cook county FFL all the time. I have bought many pistols from them that had magazine over 10 rounds and a few bolt action tactical rifle as well. The only thing I have not tried to buy form them is AR. Now, Grab a gun is a different story. They won't ship much to me and when I did try to buy a pistol over 10 rounds they would not ship unless the sent it without the magazine. I told them to stick it and haven't tried to buy anything from them since.

That's disappointing, I was looking at them specifically since they were on the "good to go" list here: http://illinoiscarry...showtopic=54598

That's true, they are. I believe someone recently told me they successfully ordered from them which is why they're on the list. Though in the past for years, they would deny. If you want to give them a try and met me know if they deny you, I'll remove them.

About 25% of all my transfers come from Bud's from Chicago buyers. The most restrictive online gun dealer is GrabAGun. ...
My personal experience is exactly opposite, although I'm one person and not an FFL. Bud's wouldn't ship me a (non-AR) rifle about 2 years ago, so I bought it from Grab-A-Gun.

Me too. Buds would not sell me a Browning Stainless Stalker, a bolt action in .223. Grab a Gun just sold me and a friend G-19s with two fifteen round mags as that is what they come with. Midway will put the squash on anything they determine to not be legal in Chicago. No handgun ammo to Chicago, rifle and shotgun to the door, but no magazines that are even marginally questionable. can't blame them, but will not give Buds another penny. Yeah, Buds. No buddy of mine!

Bubbacs...
Wondering if you are confusing Bud's of Lexington, KY, with Chuck's which is located in the south suburbs of Chicago and has been a frequent target of anti-gun protests?

Sometimes I just wonder if it's a crapshoot with all these online sellers. I have bought an AR lower from PSA, then the next month they wouldn't ship another one to me (to the same FFL outside Cook County). PSA says they won't ship ammo to Cook county, but I have regularly order .22lr from them and they ship to me (in Cook County) all the time. It makes me think it just depends on who is taking care of the orders at that time and they all interpret the law differently. I have never had issues with Buds, but have had issues with Grab a gun. Maybe next time I order something I will have an issues with Buds, but not from Grab.

I've ordered ammo to my door in Chicago, no problem.
I've ordered two pistols, no problem.
Tried to order a 10/22 Takedown, had to cancel the order. Doesn't matter if you're in compliance with the Chicago AWB, they won't sell ANY semi-auto rifles to you if you live in IL.
Also, on the 10/22 not being banned comment many posts back, it is in fact banned in Chicago if you get one with the threaded barrel (which is almost all). I ended up having my FFL order the base 10/22 that doesn't have that AWB "feature".
