KawiLove Posted March 11, 2020 at 04:56 PM Share Posted March 11, 2020 at 04:56 PM Hi all, last year I posted about getting my foid revoked due to (court ordered restriction) because I was on court supervision for reckless driving. Well, as of 2/24 my court supervision is over. After trying to get a hold of a representative for over 2 weeks on the ISP hotline, I finally reached someone today. Long story short, the guy on the phone told me I have to now file an appeal for my revocation to be reinstated. Also told me not to get my hopes up because these things can take up to 9 months currently. This is ridiculous, I'm not a felon, I played their game and surrendered my Foid and my firearms, and now I have to wait almost a year to get my rights restored?? Does anyone have any advice or guidance for me?? Guy on phone said they would be sending me papers to fill out.

John Q Public Posted March 11, 2020 at 07:10 PM Share Posted March 11, 2020 at 07:10 PM I would never have let them keep and firearms restriction on there for that! They try and tag that restriction on everything they do. If you had a lawyer, you could have got that taken off, but now you are dealing with the aftermath of not doing so at the beginning. Molly, will prob chime in here for you. Good luck
Molly B. Posted March 12, 2020 at 04:24 PM Share Posted March 12, 2020 at 04:24 PM I think you can get a faster response by faxing the following to this number: 217-782-9139 1. cover letter with your full legal name, date of birth, FOID number, and reason for fax - "court supervision successfully completed and terminated"2. https://ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/AppealRequest.pdf(records correction - no longer under court supervision) 3. https://ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/Investigation.pdf4. Certified (signed and stamp at the courthouse) copy of the successful completion of court supervision. and just for good measure, this attached document:FOID Review Form IC-probation restriction dismissed (002).pdfCross out probation and write in ' court supervision'. If your CCL was revoked, Include this one for your CCL: CCL Review Form IC-criminal charge dismissed.pdfcross out criminal charge - write in court supervision

jrk_indle84 Posted March 14, 2020 at 05:25 PM Share Posted March 14, 2020 at 05:25 PM Seems they've made this to be a pain along with everything else goin off molly's post. Had similar thing happen in 2012, my foid got revoked and had to send in card. After supervision was over reapplied as if was getting a foid for first time and got it back. Pretty easy Edit: Should add I didn't turn in any firearms tho, so could be whole other process. When all happened it was kind of a crap show anyway, but called over and they said had to send foid back. I asked about firearms stating I was only one in house that had a foid and only answer I got was go give them to someone with a foid for time being, I didn't, but never got told to surrender firearms with foid.
